Fantastic to hear that this regime is working for you.

It's getting colder, so you may need to keep warm.

The cold can often make microvascular and vasospastic angina worse.

Microvascular and vasospastic angina can be challenging to treat as well as live with.

Do you need to be admitted to hospital to stabilise your unstable symptoms?

No hospital just a very good cardiologist

I have a very good Cardiologist too, however my coronary arteries sadly don't respond to my medication.

I have been reviewed by the world leading experts in this area of cardiology and despite their input I have lived with refractory vasospastic angina for 11 years.

You are fortunate and I wish you ongoing stability.

Hi I have Microvascular Angina found at a stress test chemical induced. I recently asked if it was stable or unstable because it only happens when I’m not doing anything- last one (20mins) I had been sat stroking my cat. The cardiologist said it’s stable because I’ve only 40% artery blockages. I take Diltiazem three times a day and Ranexa twice a day which controls it in the main. How were you diagnosed as unstable angina?

I also have mitral valve regulation so breathing in winter is affected with both issues.

All the best take care this winter 😊

Hi and thanks for the reply. Having had an angiogram where my major arteries were clear they said it was the smaller ones as they described like small branches of a tree. I only had angina pain either when resting or sleeping, through the chest, back and neck. Then I had a TIA last year with temporary blindness in one eye. Luckily since on the new medication everything seems settled now 🙏🤞

Hi it sounds similar to mine I get an excruciating pain upper back neck under the tongue and chest tightness sweating and brain fog. The stress test was not on a tread mill I had Atropine and Dobutamine the angiogram was done some time after with MVA diagnosis but no one said if it was stable or not. Also before medication I had several episodes in the night and often late evening . One putting me in hospital for four days Tropin levels raised.

Did they give you any more information on how unstable MVA should be managed? I’ve read somewhere you have to tell the DVLA ! Eek

Thank you for your reply 😊

Hi apart from taking the medication there’s not a lot you can do since it’s not related to exertion or anything stressful. Haven’t heard about the DVLA thing as I’m sure if you have an attack you could pull over
