Invited for my unmentionable this week, feeling unexpectedly anxious, advice needed!
I'm not anti-V but I unexpectedly feel anxious about getting my boo-ster this week after my heart attack & stent last month. I'm 48, female & have a healthy, active lifestyle so for me, my heart attack came out of nowhere. Now I'm on 7 drugs every day, with a blooming GTN spray I'm having to use a couple

Coronary artery spasm
I've been recently diagnosed with coronary artery spasm and already read a few posts on here about it. I'm taking isosorbide mononitrate 20mg twice daily and put on atorvastation 80mg and 75mg aspirin. I was already taking propranolol for anxiety and lansoprazole for acid reflux. This has really taken

Angina
Hi, I have angina since I had my heart attack about 18 months ago. This heat is making the angina worse and I also have insomnia. I had a hospital report from my cardiac MRI and will need further hospital tests in the next few weeks. I cope with GTN spray and Amlodipine as the heat affects my blood

Slow recovery and set backs after angiogram and stent
I had an angiogram and stent inserted in late July after three weeks of angina. It was diagnosed as uncontrolled angina, it came on rapidly over three weeks and got worse very quickly. I suspected that is what it was and was happy with what was done and how quickly they did it, arrived 10am, stent inserted

Can coughing irritate a new stent & how bad should chest pain be before I use GTN?
Hello, I've got couple of questions - I know pain is subjective but thought I'd ask anyway! It's about 6wks since my HA & stent. The first few weeks after leaving hospital were tricky, with a few random severe pain events that had me whisked into hospital, despite my protestations, and are now

Amlodipine for angina
My husband, who is nearly 72, had a heart attack in April last year caused by high cholesterol. He had a stent fitted, told that his heart had no damage and was put on Bisoprolol 2.5mg twice a day, ramipril 2.5mg twice a day (now changed to Losartan 50mg once a day), ticagrelor for a year and aspirin

Unexplained severe pains after heart attack & stent 4 wks ago
Hi, Looking for others that may have the same pain as I do! I'm a 48yr old female that had escalating symptoms (exhaustion, light headedness, hypertension) for 6 months before my heart attack. I had one stent fitted. My heart attack presented strangely apparently - I had most of the pain in my left

GTN spray query
hello all I’ve got a spray but haven’t used it yet and I’ve read that it can be used for breathlessness. Is this correct? Has anyone used it for this? I was given it for pain but no one said anything about shortness of breath. To be honest my shortness of breath is worse that the discomfort I get around

Feeling a little low
Update I had a heart attack in September that left me with a 100 percent blockage in the right artery. In and out of hospital since December with unstable angina. On the 29th March I had 3 stents fitted after trying both wrists they then eventually did it through the groin. Discharged 5 days later

Isosorbide Mononitrate instead of amlodopine
hi, unfortunately my wife picked up my Isosorbide Mononitrate tablets instead of her amlodopine tablets. She has taken the wrong tablets for 2 weeks. I do tell her to wear her glasses 😱 She has been suffering from headaches, swollen ankles and fatigue . will the mistake have exacerbated her symptoms

Doxazosin
It’s almost 2 years since my heart attack and triple bypass. I’m being started today on Doxazosin 1mg as my BP is high. I can only tolerate Amlodipine 5mg because of swelling ankles and legs and Ezetamide made my pulse go crazy. This had been ongoing for about a year. I take max dose of Ramipril.

5 aside to a CABG
Hi all, thought I might share my recent experience.I am a 58year old male, never smoked, always been active (lots of football) eat healthily and don't consider myself to have suffered from anxiety or stress. On 28th April I had a heart attack whilst playing 5 a side football. Wasn't sure it was a heart

7 Week Review after CABG
7 weeks since I had the CABG x 4... went in for a review with my consultant. Soooo glad I had read up on here, and had the Cardio Rehab assessment beforehand, and had made notes of the questions a needed answers too. It was brutally efficient - [i]yep your op was a success, you can do anything, and

After angiogram
Received message from GP that cardiologist had asked them to prescribe isosorbide mononitrate 25 mg slow release. Following a letter a hand delivered to GP yesterday he messaged me last night to say cardiologist does want to see me again. He is of the opinion that I possibly have “coronary artery spasm

how much is too much
how much GTN do people use on average through the day. I’ve used it three times. Four the other day. Just curious how much people use?

chest pain
I’ve been having chest pain. GP suspects coronary artery disease, and prescribed GTN. Had a referral call with the cardiologist who said I “had a full house for heart disease.” In two days I have a treadmill test and he has advised that I may have to go on a beta-blocker. Im pretty active, spinning
