Hi all. I could do with your advice. I am 11 months into a medicine based treatment of my heart problems. I have a narrowed LAD and some additions arterial blockage but the during the angiogram my flow was measured at 0.91 where 1.0 is normal, so the cardiologist decided the pharmaceutical treatment was my best option.
Here is the problem. I have been doing very well on this regime and on the 23rd of November I am due my yearly review. But yesterday and today my angina symptoms seem to be returning. I have my GTN spray which I have used, the first time in many months. It helps, but the symptoms return. Nothing dramatic, just an ache in my arm and a slight feeling of heaviness. It’s not exercise related as I could go for my morning walk as usual although this morning it took more effort.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I would suggest that you either ring your GP for a check up at the very least as soon as you can , or , ring the Cardiology Department and ask to speak to your named Cardiologists Secretary to leave a message for them to tell them about your recent chest pains and need to use your spray and ask for some advice as to whether you need to come in and get it checked.Waiting until November may be too long if you've started to get repeated incidents and chest pain.
If you find that the chest pain is getting worse or you are feeling more symptoms in general especially if it also happens when you are at rest don't delay ring 111 for help. It's better to find out that it's nothing than to ignore it.
I suggest you ask for an appointment with your GP, or if the chest pains are minor and occasional and not getting worse wait untill the 23Nov.. However if you experience unexpected serious chest pains and your GTN doesn't do very much call 999. Don't bother with 111, waste of time I'm my experience.
