Coronary Angiogram First Post on BHF
Hi Everyone I'm new to the British Heart Foundation forum. I have a multitude of medical issues including PAF ,Gerd , Silent reflux and IBS. Recently the Gerd and IBS have flared up causing epigastric pain and heartburn. Had a CT Scan Thorax to pelvis (with contrast) which thankfully was all clear.

Having a panic 😢
I’ve been absolutely fine, diagnosed a few weeks ago with angina ( vasospastic and microvascular) I’ve a couple of other life changing medical conditions, for some reason I’m getting really upset. Suddenly panicking about angina, how it feels and what it’s doing to me when it happens, what if the GTN

Mini GTN spray
I have started running again 4 months after my triple bypass. Although my GTN spray is fairly small has anyone come across a really small emergency spray. It only needs a few sprays in it as it is just for emergencies. Thanks in advance

Covid19 saved my life
It was on my daughters 12th birthday, after rushing to be there for her special day, that my heart stopped beating - literally. Twice. Paramedics got a bad report from an airline crew so they gave me GTN and strapped an AED to my chest. It took a few minutes before they got the alarm and then an aural

deep breaths?
Heres a thing - when I get my chest pain, if I take a few really deep breaths it goes away! Anyone experience this? I cannot find anything online about this only the opposite ( pain worsens when taking deep breaths) Suggests to me that I do not have angina & therefore not advisable to try the GTN spray

gtn spray
Ive had a pain in my chest on & off for a week or so & doc gave me a gtn spray to try. Well, I could have cut my leg off & not noticed due to the most painful headache Ive ever had! Certainly got rid of the chest pain but I think that will be getting binned!

Feel like a fraud!
I've been restoring an old cottage and enjoying the process. About 18 months ago I noticed I was getting tired more and more easily, then I started getting minor chest-pains during some of the more physical activities such as carrying heavy materials etc. They were always minor. They always passed quickly

Unbearable Itching Anal Fissures, dont know what to do!!!
I'm hoping someone here has experience with fissures, of which I have 4....2 small and 2 chronic :( Ironically my diet is fine, I drink plenty and I have regular BMs, I don't strain and I always clean properly. I've used gtn ointment, not really helpful and headaches were awful. I have warm baths

Advice re. my mum’s BP (NSTEMI last year)
Apologies in advance for the long post, but I feel like I’m losing my mind here, and the detail is relevant. We have an extensive, highly varied cardiac history, particularly on my mum’s side. She had obvious cardiac symptoms for years, even had a dodgy ecg when participating in a medical research project

Chest/back pain with breathlessness. Any leads please?
Hello. I was at work in Jan, sitting at a computer and I had a sharp pain in my chest and breathlessness and felt hot and sweaty. It calmed down quite quickly. I went to the gp and they prescribed gtn just in case, pending an xray, ecg. Ecg was normal. Xray showed slight enlargement of heart. An echocardiogram

Angina, always normal cholesterol - hereditary
Diagnosed with heart disease in January and after initial denial and shock now trying to answer questions. I have read that 25% of people with heart disease have no aggravating lifestyle choices and I count myself in that group. Docs have put me on statin, GTN and Monomil and I can now walk the 1/2 mile

Angina or not?
Hi, I'm a 61 year old woman, type 2 diabetic but generally fit. I have no meds apart from aspirin. Over the past couple of months I have been having chest pain at rest for which I have been prescribed a GTN spray, which has helped. Yesterday I had a cat scan which showed my coronary arteries to be

Anxiety
Hi all, I’m new to the group. I am looking for a bit of support and advice on knowing what pain I should be worried about and what I can ignore. I am unable to physically join a group currently so just trying to stop being so worried about every little twinge I feel. I don’t really want to use the GTN

New Stockpile GTN Spray
I was wondering if the ingredients in a GTN spray may be a good thing to use on the Supermarket Trolley ( Cart ) for international readers, or even to keep your hands clean I just ordered 5 on my repeat prescription just in case it may be good. Anyone else thought of this ?? --)

Monomil
Evening everyone First time today I had to use my GTN spray, a trip to GP was needed and he has increased my monomil xl to 2 tablets a day - has anyone else found this to help their angina symptoms? I think I was in denial that I have angina and that after my stent I would be back to normal- how silly
