Targeting iron metabolism in immune system cells may offer a new approach for treating systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
They also found that T-cells from lupus patients have high levels of
iron
, even though the patients are usually anaemic, so it was not clear why the T-cells had elevated
iron
levels and what it meant.

I cannot bear this life
Felt likeI was hit by a sheet of
iron
. Total fatigue. I was just about able to chuck the chicken in the fridge and clean up that area. I stayed in bed without enough energy to even eat anything but a bowl of cereals .

Undiagnosed ET….advice please!
Iron
normal but ferritin was low (currently on
iron
supplements). I have a history of allergies, irritable bowel syndrome and spondylosis. I’ve had an endoscopy and colonoscopy, both came back normal albeit minor GERD (acid reflux).

kratom issues
His
iron
levels were checked a few years ago… they were ok. He’s had an Rls issue since childhood… and it’s only been the last 8 years on and off opiods , and pramipexole, that his symptoms are worse. Now the kratom is no longer working to make things worse he’s depressed.

Blood test results
I have in my head that other bloods should be done to confirm
iron
tablets are required. The gp has prescribed
iron
tablets. Other bloods have been done, could someone please confirm if this is correct so I can check please?

Infusion how long to "kick in"? Hehe.
Back then I had
iron
infusions for low hemoglobin (not RLS) and was so sick I didn't notice how long took to work for RLS symptoms.

Vitamin and mineral deficiencies/Thyroid dysfunction.. Chicken or Egg?
Before I spend my hard earned money on going to a private ENDO because the NHS is failing me I wanted to ask what you all thought about the problem of
iron
deficiency and vitamin D deficiency and how this relates to underactive thyroid .

A positive experience
Without any prompting, my relatively new GP offered me an
iron
infusion saying "That's right, you guys (people with RLS) need it to be much higher (than 30) don't you?"

After more talking with the Clinical practitioner about adrenal insufficiency etc she has given me a blood test form to test that plus thyroid and
iron
levels. So I am still on Methotrexate 20 mgs until my next appointment. I feel exhausted now.

Low Iron and Vitamin D
She hasn’t been issued with any
iron
tablets the graph shows she’s within the normal range but it is down at the bottom end when it needs to be at an optimal level, so I've read, My question is, can anyone recommend a good
Iron
vitamin so that I can help her get the number up to optimal?

Need repeat bloods, high antibodies but GP doesn't have results.
I've also asked for vitamin D and
iron
panel. During pregnancy I had
iron
infusions and prior to that I've always been anaemic. Never able to give blood and feel exhausted, never rested. I know 25mg is low dose, I'm very slight 53kg aged 40.

Address
iron
and magnesium deficiencies. Obtain a competent hematologist. 2. Try the above solutions I used before my RLS became untreatable. 3. If you can afford it, work with a competent doctor with advanced knowledge of metabolism or a Functional Medicine MD.

I have been taking
iron
supplement as my ferritin had dropped from my normal 90 to 34 in April. Should I be asking for further test? I’m getting fed up with feeling unwell although I haven’t fainted and it is not all the time. Any advice welcome. Thank you

Pramipexole to Sinemet to ?
The other piece of information relative to my RLS treatment is that I had my ferritin level tested and it was 66, and I began taking
iron
(65 mg
iron
and 250 mg vitamin C) about a week and a half ago. I look forward to your comments.
