Looking for advice for my husband
Hi, My husband has been feeling extremely fatigued with a foggy brain for months. He finally went to the GP at the beginning of the year as he was also having some stomach issues. He had several blood tests and fecal tests. He got normal results on everything except severely low vitamin D and high

Continued success with Vitamin B1
Morning all, I am having some recent success with a Vitamin B1. I have suffered with RLS most of my life although it has been worse over the past 5 years and I was prescribed Ropinerole that worked and then within 10 months did not do as intended and my RLS was worse again. I have been taken Gabapentin

Views on my test results
New to this forum, so glad to have found it, I was beginning to despair with my GP who explains nothing to me. Shocked to learn how badly thyroid conditions are treated in UK. Began losing my eyebrows 2 years ago and my diverticulitis began flaring up after years of being stable. Various ultrasound

Low Estradiol and low Iron - is it Thyroid?
Hi all, I have been on 2.375 grains of Armour and 2.5 T3 since May and my results are: Ft4 33% Ft3 75% 24 hours after meds since Armour is slower release. I don't tolerate Armour in its own, tried everything from 3 to 2.25 grains. Iron 49 (50-180) Estradiol 12 (21-280) checked 4th day of cycle FSH

Iron levels
Had an awesome break through with a locum GP who checked my iron levels, found them to be low and gave me Ferrous Sulphate. Itās worked wonders. Yay! However, three months in and my normal GP has asked me to go for another blood test to check my iron levels now and wonāt give me further ferrous sulphate

Higher Hepcidin levels in RLS patients
An interesting small study shows hepcidin levels in RLS patients were higher than in control group. Hepcidin decreases the level of iron by reducing dietary absorption and inhibiting iron release from cellular storage. Hepcidin production increases when iron levels rise above the normal range of 65 to

Success with iron therapy.
I'm happy to report that after 8 weeks of iron therapy, my ferritin level has increased from 66 to 152. I began by taking one 325 mg ferrous sulfate (65 mg iron) tablet plus a 250 mg vitamin C tablet on an empty stomach at least 2 hours after consuming food. About midway, I changed the iron source

iron lab results 10 weeks post iron infusion
I have had four iron infusions in the last 2 years. 10 weeks ago I received Injectafer 1000 mg with so-so results. I had seen a hematologist at my neurologist/Sleep specialistās urging out of his concern for my out of whack lab numbers. The hematologist was not concerned. I gave my sleep, specialist

Supplements - Dangerous, Essential or Useless?
Wizard recently made an interesting post on the "drive to minimize supplementation" that I wanted to respond to in-depth. The post: https://healthunlocked.com/pasoc/posts/150006558/the-drive-to-reduce-minimize-supplementation I decided a long form response would be better, thus my separate post here.
