Oh, well, this paper also talks of the same subject :

Please share with me if you find where you saved it - as i'm in Graves and post RAI but now self medicating as mainstream medical insisted to dose and monitor on just a TSH despite my health declining considerably - so I now look after myself - and track on my T3 reading.

Hi pennyannie I will do I couldn't sleep one night and found it was so interesting as doctors have no knowledge or interest in now you are or how you feel and seam to think that if tsh suppressed then they need to drop your dose of levothyroxine they don't care about what your t4 or t3 is as long as its in range it was a old post but so good to show a doctor they doing wrong I so hope this brain fog would go away thankyou for all your knowledge and I hope you doing well

Ditto-

Here's a book I purchased simply because of the title - and the rest of the book just went into further thoughts and testimonials of people in the same boat - like us !!

Tired Thyroid - from Hyper to Hypo to Healing - Breaking the TSH Rule - written by Barbara S Lougheed - who has Graves and also post RAI thyroid ablation.

I think I gave you Elaine Moore books and website didn't I ?

The book title says it all - from memory all there is within are conversations with patients within the States talking about their experiences - I don't remember learning much - it's not a medical book and short on anything other than what the title of the book states.

Elaine Moore's first book Graves Disease A Practical Guide is very detailed, researched and referenced - though if with brain fog it's a big challenge -

I used to pencil underline everything I thought was important and write everything out as if doing lines after school - just to try and understand what it all meant -

I've several exercise books full of sentences and statements that I had to learn to quote at appointment - but it made no difference -

I even purchased a 2nd copy of Elaine's book for my doctor - but she refused to take it from me

and I just felt there was little point even going to see a doctor as I became more and more unwell following their guidelines.

I'm fine now and have been self medicating since late 2018 and much improved and just run a yearly private full thyroid and vitamin and mineral blood test once a year and do it for myself.

I've been under lining parts in books and sticking tabs to paper with notes on like good advice doctors self help and things like that ready to write outl and is very helpful to pick book up and flick through that sound brilliant why dis they ever bring levothyroxine out it just make everyone worse I don't think I have read anyone doing well on it up to yet🤯

People doing well on Levothyroxine will not be on a website asking questions and looking for answers as to why they feel well - when well we take our health for granted.

Hypothyroidism is a very common health issue and T4 monotherapy works well for around 80% of all those who take it -

we are a minority - the majority have their thyroids, and are likely without a thyroid AI disease -

The guidelines work for the majority - and there are no other guidelines for people without a thyroid or have a thyroid AI disease or have ingested RAI and have a AI disease that hi-jacks the TSH - the consequences of which are now only just being released.

It was precisely to make such posts locatable and accessible that I created my very recent document:
