How do you know when you should worry?
I hope it's okay to post this here. I don't know where else to ask. If it's not okay kindly let me know and I will delete the post. I am a 37 year old female with a history of SVT and other arrythmias. I have a loop recorder implanted currently due to some dizzy spells I have been having for the last

Echo showed strong heartbeat, pericardial scarring and fluid, and aortic valve scarring
Backstory: I'm a 'split-personality' lady Briton - born in the USA to British expat parents who divorced shortly after I was born - Mum returned to GB, Dad brought myself, my older brother and sister up in the US (Desert South-West, family cattle ranch). I spent my childhood half-half, back and forth

Newbie facing cardiac catheterization
1st posting on the BHF forum; I contribute to lung and arthritis forums as I have bronchiectasis (mild) and an osteoarthritic hip (managing my way through to an eventual hip replacement). I felt dead central chest pains 3 weeks ago when out on my daily walk and on the next day's swim; they arrived soon

Catheterization GA or Not?
I just have a question about how your kids got on if they had urodymamics tests done with catheterization and did they tolerate tube getting put in bladder without getting too upset? One Doctor told me that a 7 year old wouldn't tolerate it being put in so they would give her a general anaesthetic and

Radiation or Chemotherapy on Prostate?
Hi All, I wish I was back with better news but we met with my Dad’s oncologist for our 3 month checkup after completing chemo and found that although the cancer has stopped growing in my Dad’s bones and lymph nodes, it continues to grow in the prostate gland in specific. My father actually suspected

Cardiac Catheterization
My 59 year old Husband had a radial cardiac catheterization procedure on Friday, they put the catheter in his hand, he has some bruising around the area, they also put some dye on his groin area, but did not insert a catheter here. Yesterday evening he noticed some swelling in the same groin area where

CHD Diagnosis in China
Hi this is my first post. I'm a 62 year old cyclist. 6' 1", 75K. Been fit and healthy all my life then I have heart palpitations in China (living with my wife who works here). They investigate further (halter, Echo, Stress Test, Dye X-Ray thing in wrist) and 10 days ago diagnose CHD with arteries blocked

HIFU and Metabolic Control
Good day fellow brothers and sufferers. This is my first post and my story. I am in the UK, so all of my treatment, whatever it entails is totally free of charge, so cost has no part to play in my treatment choice. I am 68 years old. In February 2018 I had a routine PSA – came back at 4.8ng/ml UK units

Best laser for prostate surgery while on Eliquis?
Has anybody had any experience with a laser Turp while on Eliquis? I had a prostate resection 10 years ago, ( no PAF then) and it was a quite bloody affair, with 4 days of catheterized bladder washing. I filled tens of colored water bags with the draining of my blood loss. Now I have to do a Turp

Urinary retention months after TURP
Had a TURP in November 2018 and they did a biopsy and found my Gleason 9 PC. Am starting to treat cancer with Zytiga/prednisone/lupron and hope for good news down the road on that issue. However, even after the TURP, I am retaining too much urine even though I can pee. So, my urologist has me self catheterizing

Cortisol - ???? postural issues, vomiting etc..
Hi, A quick background I'm now 40. In my 20's I had guillan barre (GBS) type episodes x 3 - immunoglobulin helped restore my leg function and got me walking (so autoimmune in nature), but it was always a bit odd as it effected a different part of my nerves to what they'd expect (axon not myelin sheath

I have FND, I get full leg paralysis and I have to have catheterisation due to bladder retention. I have seizures and chronic pain on a regular basis. I use crutches somedays to walk and for shopping I use a wheel chair. A car just reversed into my partners car to which I was on the side that was hit
