Pegasys
I have been on
Interferon
alpha injections (anything between 2 and 5 days a week) for the last 8 years. I am going to be changed to pegasys ( supply issue with the
interferon
). How has everyone else found pegasys?

Travel tips - Pegylated Interferon
I wonder if anyone has tried Frio cooking travel wallets for travelling with
interferon
? We go away next week and it’ll be the first time we are away on an injection day so feeling really anxious about travelling with it and keeping it cool.

Just random thoughts for today I think
I did
interferon
beta 1b once because it was my only option. Needles are not my friend so when I could I switched to a tablet. I have tried various eating regimes, because strokes and heart attacks can kill YOU" ms can not so best that I try to stay healthy.

side effects
It’s been a long year since I was diagnosed with ET + Jak 2 positive and already fought and battled my way through the side effects of Hydroxy, Anagrelide and
Interferon
. When I started Pegasys four weeks ago, I thought this may be the one.

PV Treatment Options
Otherwise principle choice is
Interferon
/Peg or HU with Ruxo a possible alternative for some. The dilemma arises because there is no consensus amongst the experts.

Grapefruit and Peg?
Hi everyone I remember reading somewhere that you should avoid grapefruit if you are on Peg
Interferon
as it can interact with the drug.

7 weeks on Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)
Other interactions include alcohol, narcotic medications (Ultram, Morphine, Percocet, Tramadol, Duragesic Patch or Codeine), steroids, and
interferon
(Beta Seron, Avonex or Rebif). “LDN should probably not be taken during pregnancy.

Platelets still not reducing
I have now been on peg
interferon
for 4 months or so. First two weeks on 45 dose then 90 for two weeks and 180 every week since. Unfortunately nothing has changed apart from me being a bit more angry and a bit more down.

Disposal of unused Pegasys Interferon
I live in the US, and am discouraged at the wastefulness that the manufacturers of Pegasys
Interferon
have shown. Each vial holds 180micrograms of medication. Without insurance, this would cost between $1100 and $1400 PER WEEK!!!

it has come to my attention
I changed once to
interferon
beta 1a (Rebif) but it hurt too much so I went back to 1b, Betaseron, but I did not stop. Disease Modifying Therapy (DMT) will not cure me but it will at least slow ms down a little.

Could this be related to taking
interferon
for PV? Has anyone else suffered? Perhaps I should be talking to my haematologist? Any advice much appreciated :) x

Ruxolitinib and other treatments, such as
interferon
and Hydroxycarbamide, have helped people with MPNs, but some are unable to tolerate the side effects of these treatments, so researchers are looking for new treatment options.

My brilliant Consultant and special nurses got me through the trauma of being diagnosed and having to inject myself with
interferon
injections. I was advised by my medical care staff to claim compensation against the Shipton claim scheme as the NHS were aware of the problem but it was kept quiet.
