Alternative treatments for Busulfan
My wife was diagnosed with E.T. five and half years ago, she is 78 and lives in the UK. At the time, the main treatments were Hydroxycarbamide, followed by Anagrelide and Busulfan as a last resort. She was first treated with Hydrox but the side effects were severe and she was then treated with Anagrelide

Interferon and Hydroxea
I visited an ET specialist who has recommended I keep waiting for Interferon to kick in ( I’ve been injecting for six months with limited results) and add in Hydroxea to bring my platelets down quickly due to symptoms. What are your experiences of taking both at the same time? I’d be grateful to hear

Newbies new diagnosed. An obvious position to be in and rather self-explanatory, but the big question is when does it end? Is there a time when I am not a newbie, when am I something else, when do I start to just live with Relapsing-Remitting ms (RRms)? There is no timeline, and there is no set

Travelling with Interferon
Does anyone know if Frio cooling insulated packs are suitable for keeping interferon injections cool whilst travelling. I noe that Interferon data sheet says to store at 2 - 8 C whereas the Frio products just guarantee a temperature of 18 to 25 C, a vast difference.

Hair loss and what tests to do
Hi, I have Hashimoto’s and have started taking levothyroxine, increased a few weeks ago to 75mcg. I suspect I need an increase as feel worse after feeling like I had a little more energy again, but guess I need to wait and test bloods before this happens. I already had dry, fragile hair that was snapping

Pegasys results
So I have now completed my first 4 weeks on Peg Interferon and am pleased to report that my platelets dropped lower than ever before 😊 My results this week were a very respectable 460 (down from 820) so we carry on with 45 MCG a week for the next 4 weeks. Not an easy 4 weeks but hopefully the end results

Post by MPN-MATE Admin » Wed Sep 25, 2019 10:29 am Hey all my MPN colleagues & friends... Thought that you might all enjoy a quick scan of this article on Curcumin, that seems to suggest that its powers might be just what the Pharmacist decided not to order... because it is possible much less expensive

New to ms the first week of many weeks
New to Relapsing Remitting ms (RRms) its first week month decade. Everything is a learning experience. Mistakes will be made, I most certainly made mine. People will give “YOU” suggestions and make recommendations. They may appear reasonable but, this is an incurable progressive chronic condition
