Can a new drug mimic the effects of exercise on bone and muscle?
Looks like this is something we should look forward to and keep an eye out for approval. Researchers have recently discovered that a new drug called locamidazole may help to prevent loss of bone density and muscle mass during periods of inactivity, but it’s no substitute for all of the benefits of exercise

weight
hi I’m 25 and have recently been diagnosed with PCOS and insulin resistance. I have been trying so hard to lose weight but I can’t seem to despite working out four times a week and seeing a nutritionist. My endocrinologist wants me to take weight loss medicine but I’m very afraid of the side effects

Insulin Resistance, Parkinson's Disease, Consequences And What To Do About It
The topic of insulin resistance (IR) in PwP is not often discussed. Has your MDS or neurologist ever tested you for IR? It is estimated that two thirds of people with PD who are not diabetic, have IR and very likely are not even aware they have IR as discussed here : https://www.parkinson.org/blog/

Salamol doesn’t work for me! Is anyone else finding it less effective than Ventolin?
Hello asthma buddies, Ok.. so while I’m all for saving the planet, I’ve been told my new blue inhaler, Salamol, is a CFC free equivalent to Ventolin. If I order a repeat prescription for Ventolin I automatically now get a Salamol. This happens at all phamrmacies I’ve tried. I have been told that eventually

Stick where I am or increase?
Good morning folks! Haven't posted in a while, but would love a bit of advice. Been on Actemra for four months and have reduced Pred in that time from 9mgs to 7mgs using DSNS method. Rheumy wanted me to go 1mg a month but I'm trying to be cautious. Bloodwork every 6 weeks. Last month the GP receptionist

Cancer Diet Studies
All the cancer diet studies we have discussed lately appear to have one thing in common. That is the authors have never developed nor witnessed the development of a successful cancer diet. If they had, they wouldn't appear as a 5th grade science project . . . who outsourced the statistics. If we could

Does anyone have any insight on how or if V +O treatment affects insulin sensitivity?
My husband is on V+O treatment, on cycle 7, he also is type 2 diabetic. Ever since starting treatment, he has had to add fast-acting insulin after meals to his regimen. We attributed this to the steroids given during O infusions, but those are now in the past, and he is not able to reduce his A1C and

By moving a very small soleus muscle while sitting ,blood sugar decreases, says article published in iScience.
University of Houston Texas paper published at the end of 2022 is sparking a wave of interest Reducing the level of sugar and insulin in the blood for diabetics after eating by 52% (better than many diabetes medications) with a very simple movement and you do not need to make an effort or take
