Sodium Docusate
Hi all! We started disimpaction on Tuesday and have been on Movicol 12 sachets for the last 2 days. We've now been prescribed Sodium Docusate as well. I'm not sure if it's a good idea. Anybody have any experience with it at all? Thank you x

Any success with the Keto Diet for IBS?
In a bid to lose some weight and battle the bloating feeling I've been getting on a daily basis, I thought I'd give the Keto Diet a go. I have previously completed the FODMAP elimination and reintroduction diet under the direction of a clinical dietician, so have identified my main trigger foods as being

5 Safe Ways to lower blood pressure and support your Thyroid by Tom Brimeyer founder of Forefront Health.
When elevated, aldosterone works to re-absorb and retain sodium while wasting potassium in the process. This loss of potassium actually causes your arteries to constrict, increasing your blood pressure. Elevated aldosterone also promotes both inflammation and edema (water retention), and suppresses

Salt and sodium?? How can you no if your water intake is doing more damage than good ❤️
So I want to cut not only my sugar out but salt as we all no how both can contribute to AF and high blood pressure. I am so confused because I see that sodium is a name for salt and there is a lot in water 😮 recommend for adults is 6g a day but I am shocked how much is in water and soda water, sparkling

FIVE SURPRISING WAYS YOU COULD BE DAMAGING YOUR KIDNEYS
Once we get told about having CKD our first reaction is often, "WHY?" If we know we have Diabetes and/or High Blood Pressure that somewhat mitigates the reason. However, there are many of us who if we find out that we are prone to getting CKD we could take action to stop or slow it down. It takes

Help??
Have taken 3
Imodium
and dioralyte but nothing. As soon as I eat anything it's back out again, it's stopping me doing anything. Will definitely be at the doctors on Monday, but does anyone have any remedies for right now whilst I'm away? 😭😭😭

Liver cirrhosis and falling sodium levels
Hi there, my mom is in the ICU. The doctor told my sister to either keep her on a ventilator(which he advised against), continue with the ongoing medications or to take her home. He asked her whether she wanted to torment her by keeping her alive. My brother in law says she must have misunderstood and

Urinary Iodine Concentrations and Mortality Among U.S. Adults
Iodine is, was, and will continue to be a controversial subject. There are people who have what I consider massive intakes of iodine (from supplements such as Lugol's or nascent iodine) and who suggest that we should all follow their example. There are others who are very cautious and positively avoid

Smokers.
The subject of smoking & PCa tends not to come up, but I imagine that many men my age (70) or older are ex- or current smokers. I am using the appearance of a new study as an excuse to write about cadmium, zinc & selenium. In 2015, an Italian-U.S. meta-analysis [1] led by Dr. Stephen Freedland reported

Addison disease and thorough testing query?
Hi all, I have been wondering about adrenal fatigue/ Addison’s disease and came across the following. If Addison’s disease is suspected, blood tests will be carried out to measure the levels of sodium, potassium and cortisol in your body. A low sodium, high potassium or low cortisol level may indicate

Need help
I’m a little lost as to what is good and not good to eat with cholesterol. I have read plenty internet post but all they seem to do is contradict themselves. My husband is being a trooper and also wants to cut back on his sodium so if anyone has any bits of awesome secrets that would be great.

New results. Dose adjustment? Reason for macrocytosis?
Hi Everyone, My husband would really appreciate any wisdom on his latest results. He's been on NDT for the last seven months, gradually increasing the dose. Currently on 1.5 Thyrogold a day. I think this makes 75ug of T4 plus 19ug of T3. He was on Naturethroid but problems with supply and then a new

Advice gratefully appreciated!
Hi everyone, I posted a few weeks ago about my ongoing battle to get to the root cause of my many symptoms and issues. Just over 2 years ago I was supremely fit, running, strength training, easily hiking 20+ miles every weekend without so much as an achy muscle. Then May 2016 my feet started burning

Risodronate Sodium
I had a terrible response to Allendronic Acid - thought my oesophagus was burnt out. I was booked for an intravenous infusion but cancelled the appointment after reading some horror stories. I saw my rheumy on Monday. She insisted that, as I already have osteoporosis and I'm on a relatively high dose
