ITP following chickenpox
They were constantly giving her
immunoglobulin
which made her very sick and eventually failed her kidneys. At this point they moved her to ITU and thankfully her kidneys are working again.

Explainer: how viruses can fool the immune system
Here's an informative article on the life cycle of B-cells (B-Lymphocytes), explaining how they become sensitised to a viral infection, work to clear it from your body, then go through a quality control process that makes them more specific to that virus and how that can work against us with viruses

Question about diagnostic criteria.
Following repeated pregnancy losses, I had an indeterminate result on an Antiphospholipid Syndrome Assessment (all normal except ACL IgM = 13, cut off for normal is 12). My understanding is that results below the 95 percentile are negative, above the 99th are "positive / high." Results between the 95th

Bridge Technology with TSH Receptor Chimera for Sensitive Direct Detection of TSH Receptor Antibodies Causing Graves' Disease
Newly published paper listing Dietrich JW as an author. For those who do not recognise the name, have a look here: http://www.thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/About_Us/advisors.html Anything that improves diagnostic accuracy is surely a step in the right direction. [i]Horm Metab Res. 2015 Jun 16. [Epub ahead

I need some advise for ITP
In 2013 i went to the hospital for a general examination and i was told by my physician that i should see a hematologist because my platelets were 78 thousand, so i went to a hematologist for a consultation and he told that I have ITP and recomended me to take prednesone 100 mlg per day for one week.

Mycophenolate mofetil - longer term experiences?
Hello everyone, I developed ITP three years ago despite already taking immunosuppressant medication - 20+ years earlier I had a liver transplant for autoimmune hepatitis. To prevent rejection, I have been taking tacrolimus (Prograf). My experiences during my early days with ITP were much like those

I am not sure what to do here. I was diagnosed last September as Asymptomatic PBC as well as Polymyalgia Rhuematica. I wrote to you all at the time as I was in bad state of shock (prob still am!) I was told at the time by the Hepatologist that as LFT and IgM were completely normal and I had never had

My LFT readings versus normal
I am scoring on the autoimmune hepatitis score despite no serum
immunoglobulin
apparently. So it is possible I may have the condition. I find it all a bit overwhelming having gone from fine to this.
