Cannot break the cycle of upper respiratory infections so he is working to try and get insurance to approve
immunoglobulin
therapy. He said my antibodies are low enough that hopefully they will approve. Says it is easier to get private insurance to approve than Medicare (US).

Chronic itp. Latest treatment is rituximab
Hi all, I was diagnosed with itp in July last year and wrote a couple of posts at the time. Sorry haven't been in touch for sometime; it was greatly reassuring to talk to other people about their experiences at the time and people were very kind. It's fair to say it's been a bit of a roller coaster ride

ITP Spleen removal
So, I was diagnosed with ITP October 2014. Ever since I have had a single figure platelet count, proving non responsive to pred, IVIG, elmotrobag, romniplostim, rituximab, MMF. My options now are to have my spleen removed. I have requested an indium scan but been told that I do not have enough platelets

Weak positive
Due to low grade problems including chronic migraine, but no history of blood clots my gp arranged for the three tests. Only one, Igm has come back, weak positive, score of 21 and it is being repeated at the no of the month ( 12 weeks after ). With gp approval I started taking baby aspirin but notice

ANA Tests
The slides are washed and any remaining antibodies bound to cell nuclei are then visualised using a detection antibody binding human
immunoglobulin
which has been conjugated to a fluorescent tag.

New sarcoid user
Hi sarcoid people, My name is Helen and I am 33 years old and about to be diagnosed with an 'unusual' presentation of sarcoid. My neurologist wants me to have a gallium scan to confirm. Apparently the radioactive gallium attaches to red blood cells which will congruate around areas where the deposits

Unrecordable Immunoglobulins - any advice?
Hi everyone, It’s been a while since I last posted, but 2015 was such a hellish year - 6 months of BR starting in January 2015, during which I had 2 hospitalisations with neutropenic sepsis and continuous chest infections lasting throughout the remainder of the year. It kind of gets a person down after

Hello! I have APS (diagnosed as primary obstetric), hashimotos & coeliac disease, also fibromyalgia. I'm not currently under the care of a consultant for my APS. My gastroenterologist, for my yearly coeliac check up, orders loads of bloods. Some of them are not specifically coeliac related but autoimmune

Test results confusion
Hi, Please could someone help me understand my recent blood results! I've just got a copy as have been advised to keep copies from now on ( only recently diagnosed!). I'm aware that alkaline phosphatase and alanine transaminase are expected to be raised. My IGG and IGM is also raised. Is this to be expected

Hi, this thyroid protocols are going to get me crazy. I not only turned out having Hashis, adrenal problems, but also Pituitary problems. And the last strow my lyme D gave reactive in the lab. What can I do? Are the L.D having my low T4, or high antibodies? Labs Collected: 05/03/2016 09:34 = *THYROGLOBULIN

I am an embarrassed GP who has never heard of Hughes syndrome.
Hi My mother is in ICU post PE, Her Cardiolipin IgM is very high. She has had 3 miscarriages, severe migraines with aura and sister who also had a PE. I am a GP and insisted on a DDimer on admission, which after a circulatory collapse in High Care lead to prompt intervention, thank God. Her work up

Maybe NOT PBC......perhaps Nodular Regenerative Hyperplasia?
First of all, he said that with CVID patients, a positive antibody test doesn't clinch it...because we have the antibodies of thousands of people in our blood stream if we are on
immunoglobulin
therapy. (Each weekly infusion is a synthesis of 1000's of plasma donations).
