Long lasting migraines
Plus I take
imitrex
for breakthroughs along with excedrin migraine. I have migraines with aura no head pain but I can feel the pressure. Does anyone else have migraines like this? My migraines turn into cluster headaches lasting up to four to five days.

Medications for Migraine
I forgot to ask: Did/does anyone take one of the available migraine medications such as Sumatriptan (also known as
Imitrex
), Rizatriptan (Maxalt), etc. at the onset or during your migraines? I have had a few migraines in the past and the
Imitrex
was often able to abort the full-on aura, etc.

Post-Ablation Migraines Continued
As for treatment, I took
Imitrex
the first few days but am now over the weekly limit so now am defenseless against them. Today I had three and just rode them out without any medication.

Could this be TA?
I mentioned it to my Dr again about 1 yr ago and was given
imitrex
25 mg 9 Pills a month. Once I felt the headache start I take one and it takes about 20 mins and the headachr goes away. She also did an Mri with no dye. That was normal and I got bloodwork for inflammation and that was normal.

Migraines everyday or non-stop.
I am on verapamil, Topamax, I can take what's called a migraine cocktail when one is starting to come on or I can take an
imitrex
. I just recently had my second chiropractic visit to see if I can get relief with that. Anybody have any other ideas I can try.

Botox for migraine. How soon did you feel it starting to work?
My go-to med for the last 20 years has been sumatriptan (
Imitrex
). It usually works. I've tried rizatriptan and frovatriptan, but they don't do much of anything for my migraines. Prior to February I was getting 4-9 migraines a month, which is pretty normal for me.

Headaches vs. migraines?
I’m taking generic
imitrex
and my neurologist just added in generic Zofran for the nausea. I’m waiting to get my Aubagio started and have been off of Avonex for a few months now in the interim. I’m open to any tricks or suggestions that others wouldn’t mind sharing.

What has helped your pain the most after VM?
But you wont be reaching for that
imitrex
/sumatriptan, pain med near as much. This past week I got back into healthy eating per recommendations of the wonderful people on this site. Smoothies with fresh fruit, salads, grilled chicken.

Question ?
I am allergic to Naproxen, Sulla, Chlorpromazine,
Imitrex
, Lefludamide, Clindamycin and Asprin so far.. I am torn. I fear the damage being done to my body by severe RD but thus far drugs have been an absolute ordeal. Perhaps in my case I should just stop.

3 months Post Viral Meningitis
On Aug 6th, I went to Urgent Care about the headache, told it was a migraine and given
Imitrex
, and follow up with my PCP on Monday. The headache worsen, but still not as intense as a migraine, it just felt different, I explained that to my PCP so she gave me a Toradol injection.

Why do my bruises change color?
I don't metabolize coumadin (Warfarin) so I take an
Imitrex
injection daily. The other morning the bruising on my abdomen were a greenish and yellow color as if they are healing. That night they were all a dark purple color and remain that way. Why would this be?

Can't metabolize Coumadin (Warfarin). Anyone else have this same issue?
I am now taking an
Imitrex
injection daily to thin my blood. Problem is my injections were donated to me by the company and I only have about 1 1/2 months left. I can't afford to get any more, as they are over $1,600 for 10 of them. Heparin is also too expensive for me to buy.

100 mg Sumatriptan tablets vs imitrex injections?????
Although the Botox has changed my life dramatically I still have the occasional migraines usually a hormonal one, which I take sumatriptan for, but the tablets are taking such a long time to relieve my pain and I have been reading about the
imitrex
injections being a better pain reliever.

I've had migraines 27 years. When Imitrex was put on the market (the injections) I began using them.
I went from having 2 to 3 migraines/severe nausea, a month to 8 or 9, when I began using
Imitrex
. My Dr. said it was a coincidence. That went on for 20 years. I was given 6 shots a month so either suffered in bed, or went to the ER. for an additional shot.
