Long term Zoladex use
Since then I've had 4 surgeries, the most recent one being a bowel resection and an
ileostomy
in December which has since been reversed. Each time I have surgery I'm given a Zoladex shot for 6 months with HRT.

My first post ....looking for general advice?
As well as having PCO and adenomyosis, the endo has stuck the bowel extensively meaning I will probably need an
ileostomy
. Both ovaries are also stuck to the uterus, meaning it all sort of moves as one big ball of mess.

My life with an ileostomy from the start
I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2002. It progressed quite quickly and by December 2005 I was virtually housebound because of incontinence. In March 2096 I haemorrhaged and was admitted to hospital. I was given high dose steroids for three weeks in an attempt to get the UC under control but

I had my
ileostomy
exactly 15 years ago although I was terrified at the time it has given me 15 years of relatively good health, getting used to a bag was not pleasant but the alternative was worse, I still get leaks from the bag but I am determined to carry on life as usual, I am now going on 72 years

Siberian ginseng
Because I have an
ileostomy
I have a problem with low magnesium which makes you exhausted. I am still having weekly magnesium infusions and hopefully things will improve. Someone suggested I try Siberian Ginseng which apparently is good for helping with energy levels.

I need to find PUBMED research on APL antibody "trigger events." This term is obviously not a medical one. Any suggestions for me to try?
I am trying to recover compensation for the losses I have had from the long list of things, DVT, PE, punctured intestine, gangrene,
ileostomy
, subdural hematomas, ventral hernia, vertigo, various nerve damages, etc. which came from this "trigger" event.

Deck the halls with boughs of holly ...
upshot is that they're still not sure if the mass they removed was a desmoid tumour or general scarring, so they're going to give him a CT scan for more benign growths, and a blood test to see if he has the 'gene with a higher cancer risk', before they make a decision on whether to perform a permanent

Long and winding road
I ad my large intestine removed then and a full permenant

Don't give up hope!
...so my wife is home from hospital today after a successful
ileostomy
reversal :-) As far as we know, there is no sign of any remaining disease and she is now completely back to normal :-) :-) To put this in context, she was diagnosed just over a year ago with significant ascites due to Grade 3 Stage

Not long now ...
The low-down is that he's already had his colon removed (nasty genetic complaint causing dangerous polyps), and is now going in for removal of his rectum, and a (hopefully temporary)

Help needed please with understanding Mum’s CT report
In March of this year she had a complete bowel obstruction and was operated on and ended up with an
ileostomy
. After the op she was told to go away and recuperate and that chemo would be offered as and when symptoms returned.

Update on Mum after Ileostomy ? Abraxane chemotherapy
Mum has made remarkable progress since her emergency
ileostomy
in March. She has today had the results of a scan performed last week. She has been advised that there is a raise in her CA125 from 155 to 281, but the scan shows minimal disease.

Does anyone else who has an ileostomy have to take Magnaspartate sachets for low magensium?
Because of the
ileostomy
which I've had for 18 months I suffer from low magnesium. I take 1-2 magnaspartate sachets per day but because they cause diahorrea I feel they do me more harm than good because soon after I take them I then have a couple of bags full of pure liquid poo (sorry if tmi!).

Help Needed on Ileostomy, for Mum 71
Mum had an
ileostomy
2 weeks ago, has now been discharged from hospital but is having trouble getting things to thicken up if you know what I mean. She had a good day yesterday and only had to empty the bag 3 times, but so far since last night it has gone back to being all fluid.

Does anyone out there has an ileostomy because of their ovarian cancer?
I have joined the
Ileostomy
Association but although I have had lots of very good advice and help, no-one seems to have their stoma because of ovarian cancer.
