Travel insurance with ICD
In hospital I had an
ICD
fitted. Since then my recovery has been going really well and I’m able to get back out running again which is great. I have a holiday booked soon but I was wondering if anyone has any advice on what’s the best travel insurance to get if you have an
ICD
?

Atrial / Ventricular Fibrillation and Stomach issues?
Luckily he has an
ICD
device that helps and keeps him alive thank goodness. I was wondering if anyone else had this and if anyone has stomach issues? And if they can be linked with the heart? He has had lower stomach pain for years but they get worse when his AF is bad.

Experience with tapering Neupro, Dopamine Agonists, and managing DAWS
With my neurologist's assistance, I am currently tapering off the Neupro patch (10mg) due to severe impulse control disorders (

pacemakers and ICDs
Also do you choose as to which pacemaker or
ICD
AND would it be better to go private for this rather than go through NHS and if so where to get it done? All ideas welcome.

Can Alcohol trigger Tachycardia?
But a week ago I had a serious event where I was informed my
ICD
nearly went off due to uncontrollable Tachycardia that lasted 10 seconds. This is the first significant event since my heart attack.

Feeling anxious and panicky
I was diagnosed with heart failure 18 months ago and had an
ICD
inserted under my skin this April. This came on top of numerous other chronic health issues. I am 80 years old and have had to learn to accept all these difficulties.

Weight gain & pressure in legs
The NHS cardiologist said he wouldn't investigate further because he's not concerned, but my private cardiologist was willimg to listen and said it's possibly a blood flow ossue and suggested perhaps a non invasive CT scan would help, but doesn't know if they'll be able to do this because I have an

Long QT
Her recovery involved having a
ICD
fitted and being put on beta blockers. I'm so grateful that she's still with us and seems to be recovering well. The only thing is I'm very scared and I think so is she that it could happen again.

ICD since 2016
I am a professional that moved to the UK since December 2019, and I have and
ICD
implanted since August 2016. My question that I would like to ask, I maybe rather seeking for advice... is... I can't really talk about it on a job interview, and I'm not sure if I should.

PIPS and heart failure
As a brief summary I have severe LV impairment and HF with
ICD
fitted. I found out this week that my EF has fallen from 35 to 21%. I've been put on dapaglaflozin with epelerone to follow. I work 25 hrs per week but feel it might be wise to drop to 20 hrs.

MRI scan with compatible pacemaker, CRT-D or ICD
I have a CRT-D device implanted which is MRI compatible. It looks like I might now need an MRI scan of my head - most likely under private health care. Does anyone know what extra arrangements, if any, are needed to have an MRI scan with an implanted heart device (one that is compatible with MRI scanners

Ablation happening soon
Hey everyone So back in march I had an abnormal rythym detected by my
ICD
. I had an emergency meeting with a cardiologist about having an ablation. I honestly freaked out due to some horrible experiences, he put my mind at rest.

I was told on Friday that I might get an
ICD
as my heart is only pumping 36% My question is what is it like living with one? I managed to walk the Seven Sisters a few weeks ago so am relatively fit.

After the condition was finally diagnosed I was given an
ICD
as insurance against a potential arrhythmogenic issue. In 2017 insurance policy paid out when I had a VT storm where
ICD
fired 60 times in 45 minutes. Having been taking Amiodarone since then.

Are Pool and Sauna dangerous with ICD?
I am 59 with paroxymal afib with a pacemaker/
ICD
. For the last 3 months, I had been using saunas. However, this week as I suffered covid, I took a hot bath. I got shocked multiple times by my
ICD
. Now, I definitely will stay away from saunas!
