cold turkey
I was taking 5 mg of prednisone for
hypopituitarism
daily for 2 years. I stopped cold turkey since they didnt seem to make any difference for illnesses intended. I had gained over 35 pounds on these horrible meds. I just stopped taking them one day. It has been 2 months free and no side effects.

However, the free T4 and T3 levels are also low, which raises the possibility of
hypopituitarism
(underactive pituitary gland, which would lead to an underactive thyroid gland instead) - further testing would be advisable if this is suspected.

I have also been tested for

Update - Endo visit - don't know how I feel!
I've got
hypopituitarism
too as pituitary isn't producing TSH. I asked him why the letter that his colleague sent to me said that this was the only hormone that was an issue, when they never even measured the others.

Hashimoto's & high blood pressure
My TSH is 0 as I have
hypopituitarism
too. I am really struggling with trying to go gluten free - I've never really eaten much in the way of baked goods, breads, pasta anyway, but I'm finding it in almost everything that we eat and I'm struggling with this.

‘Mother of a suicide:fighting for the truth’ book by Joanna Lane
I believe Joanna has written on this forum in the past about Post-traumatic
hypopituitarism
. Joanna has now written her own personal story about how she got involved in advocating for PTHP sufferers.

Help and advise please
Could it be possible that I have a blockage from the damage to the brain from the stroke,
Hypopituitarism
which is also associated with adrenocorticotropic hormone.

NHS tests that may help diagnose adrenal issues
IGF-1 - IGF-1 may be used with other pituitary hormone tests, such as adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), to help diagnose

Hypopituitarism and thyroxine tests
I had a benign pituitary tumour 14 yrs ago and been on 75ug levothyroxine and various hormone replacements and anti-depressants for last 11 years. I have always taken my thyroxine prior to any 9am blood tests at the hospital. Latest results were; Free T4 = 18.6 (10-19.8), Free T3 = 3.9 (3.5-6.5), (TSH

Normal TSH but low T4
I think they are asking about possible
hypopituitarism
(sp?) I also have fibromyalgia, possible ME/CFS, Raynauld's Syndrome and Bipolar Disorder Type 2. Just wondering if anyone here has had a similar experience with low T4 but normal TSH. The surgery won't do a T3 test.

Chronic Endocrinopathies in TBI (traumatic brain injury) Disease
Analysis of the signs and symptoms of pituitary axis dysfunction suggests that many of these consequences can be attributed to post traumatic
hypopituitarism
(PTH). Post traumatic
hypopituitarism
may well play a significant role in the progressive signs and symptoms that follow a chronic TBI.

Could it be my thyroid?
Some background, I’m a 38, male, I had growth hormone deficiency (
hypopituitarism
) when I was younger, then didn’t see a doctor for 20 years until last year when I was diagnosed with Diabetes and sent straight to hospital in DKA.
