Skin pain driving me mad
Two years ago, following insect bites my immune system kicked off. It started suddenly with big red patches of sore skin all over my body. I was given strong steroid cream which didn't work. Then came agonising neuropathic skin pain which feels like every inch of my skin feels as if there are prickles

Steroids - Everything you need to know!
Hi guys A follow on from my ‘inhalers -what to take and when’ post ( https://healthunlocked.com/asthmauk/posts/144713745 ) I thought I’d do a post about steroids today (as I build up to doing the other asthma drugs 😅). Hopefully this will help to alleviate some fears, and give some people some guidance

Balanitis... or what is this?
For the last year I've been dealing with a balanitis problem, although it doesn't perfectly fit the description. This is totally invisible to the naked eye - no rash, no smegma, no blotches. The foreskin seems to get injured way too easily during sex, it often feels bruised afterwards and then it takes

Hydrocortisone
I have adrenal fatigue. Low low low high. I’m taking hydrocortisone but wondering when I should be taking it as I don’t want to completely shut down my ACTH if that’s possible. Is HC addictive and how long could I be on it or until I can come off of it normally?

1st Time Poster- Extreme skin reaction to Laxido?
Hi there, This is my very first time posting here and I’m just desperate to see if anyone has had a similar experience to my family. My lovely son E, is 2- he will be 3 in February. Since he was 6months he’s battled with constipation. We were on lactolouse first which had very little effect before

Lung-on-chip provides new insight on body’s response to early tuberculosis infection.

TB is a disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M. tuberculosis) and most often affects the lungs. The model reveals

Leg ulcer
My husband suffers from leg ulcer on his chin (caused by a little wound years ago). He is treated by a nurse but neither honey nore silver dressing or steroid cream works. I have read about fish skin treatment (Omega 3) as an option but can’t find any information where to obtain it. Has anybody any suggestions

Advice on possible paraphimosis risk during steroid cream foreskin stretching?
Alright so I'm 21, never had sex so I don't know how well it would function there, I've been trying to stretch my foreskin to treat phismosis I've always had, recently I started using a steroid cream to stretch it, once a day, at night with that 0.05 steroid cream everyone recommends, and I seem to already

Tight foreskin
I’m 19 and I’ve had tight foreskin all my life. It doesn’t affect my day to day but it means I can’t fully retract when I’m erect which makes getting intimate impossible. Prescribed steroid cream hasn’t worked and a doctor turned down my request for a circumcision. Anyone know any specific stretching

Hydrocortisone 10 mg tablets OTC ?
Hope everyone is doing okay. Just wondering if anyone knows for sure if Hydrocortisone 10mg tablets can be bought over the counter OTC in Greece or Cyprus from a chemist? Or any other country that sells the tablets OTC from a chemist or online to be delivered within that country? Hydrocortisone 10mg

Been to hormone specialist...not sure what to think?!
I am new here, but not new to thyroid problems. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos in 2001 after years of symptoms no doctor could explain: high blood pressure difficult to control even with medication, hair loss, high cholesterol, weight gain and fluid retention. Doctors suggested I was eating too much

An algorithm that predicts the chances of a person with a latent infection developing tuberculosis
An international team of researchers has developed an algorithm that can be used to predict the chances of a person with a latent Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection developing tuberculosis (TB). In their paper published in the journal Nature Medicine, the group describes surveying thousands of people

Need help and info about Hydrocortisone.
I’m looking for some information and advice. Just a quick synopsis of my history. I started with PMR when holidaying in Madeira in December 2015. My hands ached to such an extent that I didn’t know what to do with them! From there things got worse, neck, shoulders, hips, back, feet, I thought that

Mosquito bites
Does anyone else have extreme/long lasting skin reactions to insect bites? As Autumn blusters in I have an (unwelcome) reminder of warmer times thanks to some very swollen and itchy bites. Probably mosquitoes. The bites occurred in different gardens at different times but the reactions are the same.

2 months after postectomy
Hello everyone, I had a postectomy 2 months ago, it has healed fine, but there are still some bumps in the exposed mucossa, it feels still a bit tight. I'm using an essential oil with vitamin E several times a day. Will these desappear or stay? Would a steroid cream help?
