Left side new pain
I've got a new symptom lol. Pain at waist level about 3 inches to the left of my navel. It comes and goes and moving around sometimes helps. I do have diverticular in the left sigmoid colon but this is higher up in my abdomen. It's not like a normal churning IBS flare up - bowels relatively normal

Two positive IFA tests, one negative. But positives were all about an hour after receiving b12 injections?
I had low b12, at 156. They gave me the injection. About an hour later they drew my blood and I was pos for IFA but neg for PA. I had an endoscopy and had no atrophic gastritis, so was given another IF test and this time was neg. Went to a new Dr and she gave me a b12 shot, and about 45 minutes later

Bloat?????
I have PD and my only sign is a left hand tremor. But when I eat a small meal I feel bloated all day. Today I woke at 6AM and found a tray of donuts. I ate one and am still bloated at 3PM. I know I must eat to be able to have a BM and if I don't eat my stomach growls while I'm constipated.

Radionuclide-Containing Combo Slows Metastatic Prostate Cancer, Improves Survival, MedPage Today September 15, 2024
While this is mostly relevant for those with bone mets, it does indicate better OS with the combo of Xtandi and Xofigo (2 Xs are better than 1). Several links are available in the article for those who want to dig a bit deeper. ********************************************************************* [

Why still low Iron
Hi everyone, Firstly, I wanted to mention that I'm trying my best to remain resilient through this rollercoaster of hormonal fluctuations, but I must admit, I do falter at times. Today, I find myself confined to bed, feeling rather overwhelmed. However, knowing that there are others who can relate keeps

Irritable Bowel
Is IBS a common side effect of Prednisolone? I am really struggling to control bowel movements. I have also had three or four really unpleasant bouts of sudden sickness and diahorrea this year. I do eat quite a lot of fruit and have been trying to cut back but keep wondering, is it me or the drugs

C15 again…
People with PD often lose weight quickly. I wonder if the body is burning fat looking for c15? Wild thought. Here is some more from chatgpt: C15:0 (pentadecanoic acid), like other fatty acids, is both used by the body and accumulated in various tissues, depending on several factors, including

NHS Guidelines 2-monthly injections for B12 deficiency patients with neurological symptoms
Hello All, Browsing the internet (as you do!) and have come across two NHS-issued documents, stating those of us with neurological symptoms should be having 2- and not 3-monthly injections (and should be referred to a haematologist, apparently - personally I've never seen one after over 20 years of

Malecare newsletter reports Finish study glucocorticoids (e.g. prednisone, prednisolone, dexamethasone) can lead to castrate resistance
“However, recent studies have shown that the glucocorticoid receptor also has an oncogenic, or cancer-promoting, effect in cancers like breast and prostate cancer. In prostate cancer, the glucocorticoid receptor can replace the activity of the androgen receptor, which is main oncogenic factor in this

Question About Iron Supplement

The day all treatment ended and I was released to begin life without the benefit of seeing my radiation oncologist or the infusion nurse on a weekly basis was a scary day. The idea that it would be three months before I saw anyone again left me overwhelmed. Finding web boards like these and in person

PA and the Dentist
I have found someone who understand PA ! My new dentist. I have had PA since 2015 and this is only the second person. The other was a physiotherapist whose sister had it. I broke a tooth and had to see a different partner in the practice and told her I had PA and she said " oh dear, that is difficult

Just saying hello as a new member
I was just recently diagnosed with MBC in January 2024 but no stranger to breast cancer as I had already had a tangle with (what I was assured was a very low risk) breast cancer back in 2014 and underwent surgery for a lumpectomy and a subsequent regimen of 6 1/2 weeks of m-f radiation. I thought all

Thyroid Medication query
I have always taken TEVA Levothyroxine for years - a couple of months ago I noticed the packaging had changed but I was told they were the same. After taking the new one for a couple of month I became very ill, I had to stop taking them. After contacting my doctors I was told there are no other options
