When to take the low dose aspirin?
My doc never gave me specific instructions so I just take it with all my other pills in the morning after breakfast. But my wife said on her first aid course they were told we take it at night as that’s the time the body would need it more. Now I don’t recollect my doc saying anything like that, but

Pain in the Neck
I have a painful throat, not a sore throat, it’s more the sort of pain I had before my diagnosis of GCA was made and Steroids started, I asked my GP if I could stop the Alendronic Acid for a week in case the pain in my throat was due to trauma. He said OK and agreed that throat sweets might be a good

Teeth, osteoporosis, alendronic acid
Taking alendronic acid well, no problems, for just over 20 years, with a 1 yr long break, a few yrs ago. Then dexa showed density decline so put back on it. Both mother and aunt had total spinal collapse long over a decade of their latter years, and sister with it too. I am upright and looking ok at

Should I take Omega 3 supplement post MI, as I hate fish?
6-yrs post MI and stents at the age of 43, I’m doing well on the usual meds. of Bisoprolol, Aspirin, Atorvastatin and Ramipril. Should I take an Omega 3 fish oil supplement, though, as I hate fish and can’t entertain eating it twice a week as recommended? I’d really welcome your advice, please as I’

Why do I feel so tired still when I wake up in the morning?
I have Graves’ disease and taking 5 mg of carbimazole recently reduced from 10 mg. I’m feeling a lot better than I did but never feel like I’ve had a good sleep. I wake up tired! My sleep is broken through the night sometimes but still manage to get at least 6/7 hours. I’m due a blood test next Monday

TDP-43, a common cause of neurological diseases
This crucial discovery points to a common cause of both neurological diseases such as dementia and motor neuron diseases such as ALS and Parkinson disease. Currently, most scientists do not see a link between ALS and Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, frontotemporal dementia (FTD), or other dementias

Melatonin & PMR
I am having trouble sleeping for the first time since going on prednisone 8 months ago. I know part (maybe most) of the problem is since reducing to 7 mg I have pain in my shoulders so wake up frequently to turn over. Wondering if melatonin at night would help. Information online seems to indicate it

No medication seems to be working to ease some of the pain
Me again. No medication seems to be working. I'm currently on 3 gabapentin, Naproxen, 2 Omeprazoles (stomach was slightly damaged in early may as I wasn't aware that you had to have a stomach lining tablet with naproxen... Dr didn't give any Omeprazole with the naproxen so was advised to take 2 of them

You're not my real mom! You just give me drugs (legal doctor scripts, so chill).
I hope you all forgive me because I think I'm hilarious when I write my titles but I am also usually exhausted and a little punch drunk from a long day. I got scolded this morning from my psychiatrist when she called me to see how I'm liking my new antidepressant prescription. Do you remember when you

Wit's end! Switch Levo brands, try NDT again, be patient with different dosage?
To end on a positive note, and for whom it may concern, for the joint pains I’ve started supplementing with tablets containing Glucosamine,
Hyaluronic
acid
, Chondroitin and MSM (sugar & gluten free) and it’s helping.

Omega 3, PCa, Cardiac
If high omega 3 status is linked to cardiac disease benefits and no changes to PCa then it seems prudent to make sure to get some each week. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/11/191117165610.htm?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+sciencedaily%2Fhealth_medicine%2Fprostate_cancer

Neuropathy
Some people on the forum have been asking about neuropathy lately. The combination of 4 things should take care of most forms of this problem. Alpha lipoic acid, B12, magnesium and zinc.

GCA - PMR doing great after 2 months
To recap, I had left temporal headache and PMR symptoms of hip, wrist and elbow arthralgias beginning in January of this year. I had no visual symptoms or jaw claudication. My sed rate was normal and CRP was slightly elevated. Prednisone 40 mg daily resulted in rapid resolution of all symptoms except

Injuries in the garden use caution to remove plasters/dressings!
Someone posted a great post and recommended arm protection the other day - I bought the arm protection but hadn't opened it yet! I managed to carve a chunk out of my arm on the gate latch while mowing. I used an adhesive dressing similar to those used on abscesses etc. All well really until I came

Prednisolone query
Does anyone else with PMR and on prednisolone have to take Omeprazole to protect the stomach and Alendronic acid to prevent bones crumbling? My gp diagnosed PMR via phone consultation and prescribed 15mg of prednisolone.Within 24 hours my symptoms had improved and now nearly 4 weeks later I hardly have
