Liver detox after chemo?
I am starting Taxotere next week and received some advice from a friend fighting serious colon cancer. He told me how he detoxed his liver after each cycle. He used TUDCA Bile salts and PectaSol from ECONugenics Company. https://econugenics.com/collections/pectasol?Wickedsource=Microsoft&Wickedid

A drug called Colchicine for hypo symptoms
A general practitioner told me that a drug called Colchicine, which is used to treat gout, is helpful for people suffering from hypo symptoms, like painful joints, legs etc. Any opinions?

Hospital blood test and gp blood test
I have blood tests every 3 months at QE, they only seem to test for platelets and certain tests. Had a 12 month general blood test at GP last month, they have sent my results to consultant who rang me today to say uric acid higher than normal which is a side effect of MF, I am surprised that I wasn't

low platelets
My bloods came back with platelets considerably low at 83 10*9 L. Bottom of normal range for the lab is 135. Two weeks ago they were at 112. They have been low for a while but nothing below 106. I am in the Uk and have PMF intermediate 1. I do 2 week blood monitoring for another auto immune condition

Update on Phyllocontin replacement
Thank you to you all who took the time and trouble to reply about Phyllocontin replacement. The practice clinical pharmacist phoned yesterday lunchtime and we had a long chat. Uniphyllin has now been prescribed and our usual pharmacy delivered it this lunchtime, although it will be late October before

Mild gout and colchicine
For a number of years I occasionally get a twinge of gout, 1 colchicine sorts it for a few months till the next time. This one is longer lasting been 2 weeks now, still not at all as bad as gout can be. It happens in the morning and I have found that after a walk it can be gone by lunchtime if I don't

Two interesting articles
Here are links to two interesting articles. The first one details the benefits of exercise in preventing AF (it’s not clear if this applies to those who already have AF). The second-an older one which has been posted before but can probably stand repetition-details the negative effects of even small

Nephrectomy kidney cancer and Gout
kidney cancer being treated with Nephrectomy July 2023 he has developed gout recently and has never enjoyed alcohol. Trying to eat no high purine foods but internet suggestions is conflicting. Does anyone know whether this will go after Nephrectomy. uric acid obviously cannot filter through that kidney

Rytary switching, tips from your success?
My MDS has recommended switching to Rytary. She says "most" people do better on Rytary. I have been taking one 25/100 immediate release and one 25/100 Continuous release generic C/L at 8, 12, 3:30-4ish and 7:30ish. I also have added citicoline. I get wearing off at about the 3-3.5 hour mark, and I do
