Probably not but likely minimised via nutrition, without side effects.
My mum had a nephrectomy ~6y ago following kidney cancer and now has very occasional, mild gout which rehydration can remove quickly. But she follows a comprehensive Nutritional Therapy protocol for ckd since the nephrectomy with benefits eg doubled eGFR.
So Id suggest seeing a qualified NT specialising in renal.
Hi Willowdene .... I am replying to the gout problem .. Just to fill you in with the background ~~~ I lost my lovely husband 5 years ago Kidney and an infection through his dialysis line Dicitis and all it's complications .. He suffered gout but couldn't have the meds didn't work anyway ! Then I read in my Readers Digest to eat 8oz cherries any sort, tinned , fresh pie filling as it controlled the acid .. IT WORKED ! He never suffered gout again as soon as he had a sign .. out would come the tinned cherries from my stock ! Best thing ever ! good luck 😋
Good luck ! I always kept plenty of tinned cherries in my cupboard.. They say 8oz but you don't have to eat them all in one go ! spread them out over the day .. nice with yogurt for breakfast .. and then desert later .. A nice way to take medicine for a change !
