High resting pulse rate
I am hypothyroid and have been taking bovine glandular extract for the last 2 months. I feel well, but my resting pulse is 94 and I find it difficult to sleep with a heart rate that high. I have the same problem when I take synthetic levothyroxine, that is why I switched to bovine extract, hoping it

Statins
Can someone explain this. Familial Hypercholesterolemia. I am very confused. After finding this website and realising that most of my Moms health issues may be from the statin she is on. I talked to the doctor and he agreed for her to leave it of for two months.and then have a blood test. Well she did

New here and have COPD, Asthma and Urticarial Vasculitis.
I've had asthma since I was 41yrs, 2&1/2 years ago was diagnosed with COPD. Recently diagnosed with urticarial vasculitis at skin clinic who have now prescribed me with DAPSONE, even though I told her of my lung and heart conditions, yet she thinks it fine to take Dapsone. Really?

Lp-Pla2 lowering through statins
If you have VERY HIGH Lp-Pla2 then statins combined with ezetimibe would seem to be the best option because they work. BUT there is the problem of side effects...other methods would appear to be very high dose Omega 3 (8 gms?) but this takes time and all the time you're walking around with very high

Should I worry about my cholesterol?
I've read a lot of material over the years (including Dr Malcolm Kendrick's book, "The Great Cholesterol Con") supporting the idea that cholesterol isn't necessarily the demon that we've all been led to believe that it is. It's therefore not something that I've particularly worried about. I should probably

Introducing myself
Hi all, well I’ve been sat on the sidelines for a while now, just ‘listening’ to what you all have to say. I must say I’ve been very impressed with the support and advice given to complete strangers. Very humbling. I thought it was about time I stuck my head above the parapet. I’m not as experienced
