fluctuating blood sugar level .. From last 6 months..taking insulins on regular basis but still problem is not solved. .sugar goes very down

Hi my mother ie diabetic from last 10 years..from last 6 months her blood sugar is fluctuating badly.. She is taking actrapid thrice a day plus lantus 8 -10 units night time.. But her sugar level suddenly goes up above 300 and suddenly gets low af before lunch or dinner.. It gets lower down to 42 smetimes 54..doctors are just experimenting with different insulins but its not working. She walks daily for around 40-60 minutes.. does not eat any outside food. No junk food at all... but her sugar levels are fluctuating on daily basis.. Any suggestions will b helpful..

Is she type 1 or type 2?

Is she taking her meals as usual?

42,54??? Such low levels can be deadly. Hypoglycemia is much more dangerous than hyperglycemia.

Consult with doctor and try to reduce the insulin doses.

Skip the insulin dose whenever she skips the meal.

Take a close look at which food is affecting her bsl and do some diet changes also.

her diet seems ok..salads..vegetables..roti ..she does not take sugary things at all. doctors are still unable to find out the exact cause of low sugar..its fluctuating veru badly

If you're not getting the expected results why don't you change the treatment. Find an expert endocrinologist.
