Levo after hemithyroidectomy.
Does anyone else know what sort of dose people may be on after a
hemithyroidectomy
? I know she needs more meds, but she's not very confident about challenging the docs.

Hi all. I'm new to this community and would really appreciate some guidance from experts! I had a hemithyroidectomy in march 2014
Following A thy3 result from an aspiration. I had a 4cm nodule on the right side of my thyroid and was advised by the ent surgeon to have it removed. I have felt symptomatic for hypothyroid for approx 18 months but was ignored. Since my thyroidectomy I pestered my gp for further testing and was finally

Am i right in thinking that completion hemithyroidectomy will be pretty much the same as last time?
Hello, I had a
hemithyroidectomy
a few weeks ago and they found Papilliary Cancer so i am having he other side of my thyroid removed on the 28th. I understand that they will go back in the same place and just reopen up the scar that I have and remove the other side.

These are my first blood test results after a hemithyroidectomy on March 13th. Please will someone tell me what they mean?
Serum TSH level 7.67 mu/L (range 0.1 - 4.0) Serum free T4 level 10.0 pmol/L (range 8.0 - 20.0) These are the only results on the test sheet I have been given.

Just been diagnosed with Papilliary Thyroid Cancer :(
Strangely, i feel sort of relieved - i spent all morning in such an anxious state waiting for the appointment to find out the result from my
hemithyroidectomy
last week it was unbearable! My consultant was excellent and said the prognosis was 99% survivable.

My Hemithyroidectomy is on the 10th March!
Hi there, Just to say that my hemi is booked for the 10th March. Apparently they will cut all the way across my neck as they feel that a symmetrical line doesn't attract the eye and look aesthetically better than a one sided scar. Is this what others have found ? Any top tips that I may not think

I'm having a hemithyroidectomy on March 13th following 2 FNAs, one was a 2 and the other a 3. After the op, is there anything I can do ...
... to encourage the remaining part of my thyroid to function effectively? I have read that this only happens in 30% of people e.g. Do I change my diet, take any supplements etc.? I'm hoping my voice will not be affected by the op as singing is a large and enjoyable part of my life. Does anyone have
