Getting Worried
After 6 months saw my surgeon re my heart Bypass operation in May. Told me I was a priority bot also needed Aortic Valve replacement and possibly an Aneurism as well as the Aortic Root is ballooned. Possible surgery in June or July after 2 weeks in isolation at home. But I need a CT Aortogram first.

Apixaban
Morning quick question I take Apixaban and have just seen on tv if you are on an anticoagulant you should not be eating leafy green veg! Being a vegetarian I eat a fair amount! I thought this was only if you were taking Warfarin!

Open heart surgery medication and viagra
I had an AVR and double bypass on 26/02/2020 and, after an initial lung problem, am recovering well. Having consulted with my surgeon, GP and cardiac nurse, I am under the impression that viagra should not react adversely with the drugs I am on, but was advised to leave it for the first few months as

Ablation number 3
Had a call from cardiology office to quickly schedule tachycardia ablation. I’ve already had 2 afib ablations w previous cardiologist, which seemed to have worked. Never could get that dr to address the remaining tachycardia. Switched to a new dr and so wish I’d found him to begin with 6 years ago. Amazing

CoQ10 and blood thinners
Hi everyone I watched a Dr.Sinatra interview and he said CoQ10, Carnitine and Omega 3s were great for the heart but I read somewhere that CoQ10 can interfere with anti coagulants? Anyone taking both?

lady gaga has fibro
I see that lady gaga has fibro. I wonder if she has checked all her thyroid panel properly. I suppose with her money that she can afford to do that. My cousin had fibro and died of diabetes and heart failure. I always wonder if the fibro was the cause of it. https://www.medpagetoday.com/blogs/celebritydiagnosis

World-first lung repair shows promise.
Polymer glue put to work.
A decade ago, Ing became the first physician in Australia to insert endobronchial valves in COPD and emphysema patients. Ing first performed this operation at MUH in 2010, and since then it’s become the leading centre in NSW for this procedure. But Ing was only able

Metoprolol
Hello everyone, I am feeling rather low and not very well. I have to take Ciprofloxacin antibiotic for a chest infection which has pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria in my lungs. I can’t take Flecainide as my pill in the pocket if I have an AF episode. The doctor has told me to take 25mgs of metoprolol

Rehab after AVR
I had a new valve by open heart surgery 2nd May this year. Due to the virus, I have no access to follow up nor rehab. No physio, no cardiac nurse. I have a brief outline of what to expect and it is suggested that i will need 12 weeks to get full strength etc. I have been following an outline of what

Pitting Edema from heart failure?
I saw the infectious disease specialist today for my cellulitis. He said that the pitting edema on both my legs is not from the cellulitis. He said it's either from liver, kidney or heart. Last week my cardiologist changed my heart med from cardizem to verapamil because he thought the edema might be

My latest Warfarin ( INR) wobbly
Four or five days ago I posted (in response to jeanjeannies “My bleed”) and commented that my INR had “chucked a wobbly” and suddenly shot up. Well here is an outline and an update. My INR test eventually peaked at 3.3 on 29 June, the day before my scheduled test. But fake news comes in different

HOW MANY MEMBERS HERE TAKE COQ10 WITH APIXABAN DAILY APPROVED BY THEIR DOCTOR OR NOT.
For years I have taken 200-300 mg of CoQ10 . Since I was diagnosed with AFIB about 8 months ago I have been taking 100 mg daily. The doctors and the pharmacist don't seem to really know for sure if it's OK. My research show not recommended with Warfarin as it may affect the thinning of the blood. Dr

oesophagectomies have poor outcomes
Have changed user name . I had a transhiatal oesophagectomy 6 years ago . My twin brother is now receiving chemo for oesphageal cancer .He has been told that his cancer is not operable because a lymph gland is affected and it's position means it cannot be removed . A recent scan shows that the chemo
