Need some encouragement
I am not feeling the greatest on letrozole and ibrance 75mg. I am always struggling to get my blood up. Does anyone else suffer from sore arms and legs on this..especially at night? Now I also have a very leaky heart valve. Have to see to doctors. Please pray I do not need open heart surgery. All

Anyone dealing with an end of life diagnosis?
Waiting for my 5th valve replacement and my recent angiogram showed significant disease and hardening of the arteries. So, no updates yet from the hospital (it’s been three weeks since the angiogram) but I’ve had enough surgery now to know that my 5th one is not a foregone conclusion which if it can’

Week 9 Run 3 - Hey! Ho! Let's Go
Sunday 4th July 2021 When I left this morning the sun was shining and my lungs were saying I am ready to run. Once I reached my halfway point on the bridge the rain started to lash down. I had a decision to make stop and walk back and try Tuesday as no hurry to continue. As soon as I starting running

Awaiting open heart surgery for mitral valve repair/ replacement
Hi I am awaiting the above op (consultant has said 3 month wait) but have had no face to face appointments due to covid. I have so many questions about this procedure but the main one is about the recovery period? I’m a busy primary school teacher and want to know if I’m being foolish to think I will

Forgot to take my Flecainide - no adverse reaction
I usually take 200mgs/day Flecainide, the only drug I take. Yesterday for the 3rd time in 7 years I forgot to take one of x2 100gms. On the first occasion I was very worried and even cancelled an overseas business trip due to start the same day. The second time also very concerned, yesterday just uneasy

Shocking letter from cardiology
I’ve just had a shocking letter from the cardiology department of my local hospital which has really shocked and upset me. It was from a telephone conversation I had with them some weeks ago having been transferred to their care after having a mitral valve replacement on the 7th of October 2020 At Barts

symptoms following open heart surgery
I'm 33 and had open heart surgery two months ago to repair my mitral valve. My resting heart rate before surgery used to be around 55 bpm but after surgery this jumped to 100 bpm. The doctor said this was normal and was just the heart adjusting and that it would go down over time. Over the next two months

Newbie to forums
I'm new to forums but thought I would give it a go as I'm keen to connect with people who have gone through something similar to myself. I'm 33 and was diagnosed with mitral prolapsed valve a few years back. Earlier this year I came down with endocarditis which the doctors managed to clear up but I ended

5 days following valve replacement
Have followed a number of posts here prior to my op. Now day 5 post op after a successful Tricuspid replacement (repairs were sadly not going to hold) still in hospital but hoping to be home in couple of days, there were some minor delays due to sickness and pacing box. Wishing everyone well who is waiting

Anyone want to join a weightloss thread?
I am @14lbs heavier than before I was told about my mitral valve regurgitation and had open heart surgery. I usually manage my weight with exercise but as I now have heart failure I can’t do that so I am doing a calorie controlled diet. After some trial and error I have discovered that thatit is harder

Interesting study on T3 and vasodilation
This is a complex study of the effect of T3 on vasodilation https://academic.oup.com/endo/article-abstract/162/7/bqab099/6276892?redirectedFrom=fulltext . I do not have access to the full paper and anyway I'm not interested in the precise details! T3 acts in a number of ways. Usually, it binds to thyroid

76 years old, on Metoprolol extended release (ER) 25 mg, Atorvastatin both once daily I was taking Metoprolol ER 100 mg once daily and feeling tired and lacking energy. I also have sleep apnea and epilepsy. My EP says Multaq is expensive but works well. I have also had a maze procedure. I am asymptomatic
