General Anaesthetics for Pulmonary-Hypertension patients
Hi there. I'm new to this community. I've just been referred to a Pulmonary-Hypertension consultant by my Cardiologist as my latest Echocardiogram says I have "intermediate probability of pulmonary hypertension", along with "moderate mitral valve regurgitation". My question relates to General Anaesthetics

A quieter week this week!
My husband's very first attempt at baking and it was delicious! I Pottered about flower arranging, and a goodly haul of conkers. Meds still helping cough and breathlessness but stink of deep heat cuz have a very bad pain just above my pelvis on the left side. Yoga in half an hour so some deep stretches

Does anyone else suffer with extreme tiredness even after sleeping well all night? I have felt tired all the time recently . I am 71 years old and have been in permanent AF for some years and chose not to go down the ablation route. I have been putting it down to the heat but not sure it is. I take

My friends may remember that in June 2021 I went to have a pacemaker inserted. During the procedure I suffered a pneumothorax which was not acted on for 3 hrs. Just diagnosed AFib
Hi, I am reaching out to you because I was just diagnosed with A Fib as well as an irregular heart beat and prescribed Apixaban (and Metroprolol to use if my heart goes out of control -it has a couple of times). Can anyone tell me if I should have any concerns about Apixaban. What I can expect.

Flecanaide and Bisopropol I have had paroxysmal a-fib for 14 years and up to September 2021 always managed to return to sinus rhythm with 200mg flecanaide. I have on average about 20 'blips' a year and during that time I have been hospitalised (twice in the UK and twice in Tenerife)and treated until

My son had a sucessfull heart transplant in March 2022, he's 48 and doing very well. Do you know anyone who has had a heart transplant and how they're getting on? 💖

Howdy all. Hope you're all tickety boo. Just a quicky. I joined the BHF forum recently to see if I could get help, support and info from there about the mitral valve stuff but Ive been shocked at seeing some of the venomous responses some peeps have had to, what I consider, legitimate questions. One

Apixaban monitoring
Has anyone else in the UK been summoned by their GP for weight and blood tests for Apixaban monitoring, it does appear to be NICE guidelines but first for me.

Can anyone give me some info please?
I have been waiting for a heart monitor since February, and when I enquired about it, apparently the GP had forgotten to ask about it. I now have an appointment to get one on 22nd August. I was feeling that I was going to faint, so she cut my atenolol from 50mg to 25 mg, which has helped, but heart still

Echocardiogram Report - Bizarre as simply added to my NHS record.
I had heart surgery in February, 2020 to replace a bicuspid aortic valve with severe aortic stenosis and a dilated aortic root. Follow up as been a little lacking since discharge from the surgical team to my local hospital cardiology. I refused to accept telephone reviews, got a new consultant but

trapped nerves
my husband had open heart surgery 9 weeks ago which went well, the operation was over 8 hours. Since then he has numbness in his one hand. In the last few weeks he’s had pains in his hip and upper leg. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Thank you
