Thank you
Many thanks to all of you who responded to over active / sensitive bladder . My heart is with you because I think it is horrible . Having had a heart bypass and a husband who is disabled I find my energy is not good . I’m not bad in the daytime but as soon as I’m horizontal at night it starts when I

Alive, with thanks: update on nightmare
Thank you to everyone for replies. I'm still wading through them but trying to avoid spending time on the computer. I survived the weekend. Saturday night was so bad that the only thing that stopped me from ringing 999 overnight was the fear that I would be told there were no ambulances available. I

Mind the gap!!!
I would like some advice from you lovely people, please. I was diagnosed with PAF over 30 years ago and since the early years when episodes frightened the life out of me, I now understand them better and deal with them in a calmer way. It doesn't make me like them any better though. I had an echocardiogram

Nightmare with(out) flecainide. Cannot get help from NHS.
This is a follow-up to a post I made earlier this week, trying to figure out whether to take a previously unused flecainide prescription as a PIP. I was diagnosed with lone paroxysmal AF 10+ years ago (I was not quite 50) but it has not been a regular problem -- I didn't need regular meds. Due to the

bnp level high, breathlessness and fluid in lungs. What does this mean?
hello everyone. I have posted relatively frequently, most recently because my weight loss surgery was cancelled due to high heart rate(120-130) in persistent af and breathlessness. The gp gave me additional bisoprolol which brought hr down to about 90. Breathlessness has continued, possibly due to

Am suffering misery as unable to sleep because of over active bladder
Does anyone else have this problem? Have been given medication for this problem but it doesn’t really work . The medication itself becomes an irritant ! I have so many visits to the loo at night and have been on the bladder /bowel website which is excellent. However I wonder if any of you have this

Shock diagnosis and 4 week wait for follow up at rapid-access Heart Failure clinic. Is my anxiety justified?
Two weeks ago I went for a stress echo test. It was a real shock that after a preliminary echo the test was abandoned. Serious faces and mutterings all round ensued, and a cardiologist came in, studied the screen and told me I had heart failure! She advised me not to go on my planned holiday till

Multiple arrhythmias
I have now been told by EP that I have a number of different arrhythmias which probably explains why various rhythm control meds have caused other arrhythmias and not been effective . The ablation I had earlier this year helped and i am mostly in sinus rhythm. Only taking blood thinner and sotolol PIP

anterior wall afib ablation update from April 28th
I am super excited, I had a follow up with my EP Dr. Here in Arkansas, they did tests including my pacemaker interrogation… Whooo Hooo, it showed NSR 99+%, less than 1% out, but NOT afib! Never give up, I wish I had followed Cleveland Clinic DR advice 4 years ago, following up with a 3rd ablation after

Metoprolol, flecainide and prevention?
Age 59, lone paroxysmal AF for 12+ years which I have largely ignored because it wasn't that bad. It's been 4yrs since the last major episode but I suspect I am now in low-level AF a lot. I'm guessing at this because I don't have an AF app and due to the pandemic it's been nearly four years since my

Update on meds.
Hi, Finally, off the Bisoprolol (great to feel energetic again). Now taking Nebivolol (1,25 mg ) per day….This particular BB is stabilising my heart rate between low to mid 60’s Amlodipine (5mg) for BP which is stabilising around 122/73 At the moment, all is well. Fingers crossed 🤞 it continues…

Knowing when I am ready to drive again post-op
Hi everyone. So I’m 2-weeks past open heart surgery to replace aortic valve. Which is just wild. Did the usual requirements of advising who I need to about me not driving, and in my case I need to go to see a doctor 6 weeks after the op to discuss being fit to drive, for them to write a letter etc

Back/pelvis/hip pain?
A month or 2 ago, I got a new dog, he's bigger than my previous dog and he pulls on the lead. And I got stressed adapting to the change. Somewhere soon after that I picked up a bug, and the PMR "buzzing" in my shoulders, arms and calves popped back. Not really painful but aware of "the bucket" I stopped
