Hi. I forgot to take my meds yesterday morning. Didn't realise until I felt strange and was about to take my evening meds at 10.30pm. So I took morning meds. I now need to take meds again in order to bring back to morning dose over two days. I am fine taking flecainide and blood thinner since I take

Daily use of metoprolol?
Hello, Recently diagnosed with afib, cardiologist prescribed blood thinner and metoprolol 50mg daily. Now, my BP is 120/80 , my resting heart rate is 55, and the frequency of my afib is every 8 to 10 days, I know this is a question for my cardiologist but I would like to know from the experience of

NT-proBNP Level query
Trying to line up a few questions for a Cardio call in December and cannot seem to find this bit out. My last Se N-term pro BNP conc result was 444 ng/L, is this the same as pg/mL? It came back as abnormal with normal given as 0-400, I`m 66, so could I have Heart failure as no one has said I have.

Did I have a misdiagnosed heart attack?
I went to the ED a while back for flu-like symptoms and fever after a surgery. They admitted me due to elevated troponin levels (243) and tachycardia at rest (118bpm). I had an EKG, echo, and chest xray, but was only told they looked "fine". I was eventually discharged with the one word diagnosis "pericarditis

Palpitations at night
I had a third ablation nearly three weeks ago and am in sinus rhythm, but I'm having trouble sleeping because of an uncomfortable thumping heart when I go to bed, that keeps me awake for a while, though it's OK in the mornings. After the ablation my consultant told me to halve my Bisoprolol dose,

Any help?
I am pretty much at my wits end with insomnia. My Father recently passed away, and I have struggled with ànxiety for many years. I actually live in Thailand, and have been seeing a psychiatrist for years, and I have been prescribed 0.5 MG clonazepam 2 times a day, and 2mg clonazepam at night, but

INR home testing
I’m fairly new to being on warfarin following valve replacement , but it’s taking awhile to get the dosage stable, despite tying to be consistent with my diet. The nurses at my surgery are great but recently my reading was very low just before we went away. The nurse suggested less green food and increase

Are Anticoagulants necessary?
I was diagnosed with PAF over two years ago following two episodes of fast AF which lasted for less than six hours. I was given IV Metoprolol in A&E and discharged on Bisoprolol 1.25mg daily. I have been well and active since but my cardiologist is keen for me to take anticoagulants as my CHADsVASc

More decisions!!
Well I saw Dr Pepper yesterday and all much as expected. I've moved to persistent AF and a cardioversion would be pointless. I keep self converting the back to AF. Sob. So options are... Live with it as long as my rate comes down to the 80s, so will be trying Digoxin after my holiday in Norfolk.

To do it or not to do it? Ablation and other things.
We often get asked "should I have an ablation?" and from time to time my answer has been "When the pupil is ready the teacher will come" meaning that when the AF is bad enugh you won't need to ask. This happened to me way back along when I declined the first offer of ablation but within six months was

when to reduce apixaban dosage?
I am being monitored for kidney deterioration on a regular basis because of taking 5mg x 2 daily Apixaban. My latest blood test showed they are deteriorating slowly and am now in stage 2. I am nearly 80, and under 7stone 9. I feel as if I am between a rock and a hard place. I really really don’t
