New way to trigger an episode apparently

So I've been successful in remaining episode free since I had that short VT episode a bit over 2 weeks ago now. Last night I was using a deep tissue massager, and I pressed somewhat harder on a sore spot near bottom left back, I clearly felt my heart bump into AF. I then had AF (and not super fast BPM "?flutter? ?SVT? that I have most of the time, this was 136bpm average straight up AF on the Kardia) for about 10 minutes, then as I was walking to go grab extra beta blocker, I got a sudden wave of dizziness, sat down to ride it out, and bam, right back into sinus rhythm. Just goes to show, anything, old and new, will trigger episodes.

This doesn't surprise me ! I would always be very wary of using any such device

This type of trigger has been mentioned before probably caused by the Vagus Nerve or other similar.

Hi, don't know about it affect AF, but certainly can affect pacemakers and alter their rhythm to mess you up that way.

Thanks for the information ,i didn't imagine something like that would trigger it. Another thing not to do

Everyone is different, I just think it did it because it's the same area I think always triggers my episodes - having to do with my digestive system, particularly the last part of it on the left side. I often get episodes shortly before needing the bathroom!

oh I’ve just bought one just to help my arthritic knee. Maybe I might get away with just using it on my legs - or maybe not

As I said above everyone is different, I think it's because my episodes often seem to originate from that part of my body, and I just triggered it from the outside this time.

I've got one I use on my knee legs and feet, I'd worry the vibrations any further up might cause issue as they have standing next to a speaker at a Christmas party and the bass vibrations making me feel funny.

Certainly bass vibrations have made me feel weird in the past !

I’ve had my SVT set off by vibrations too. Once on a plane, we’d landed in Chicago and we’re going round and round the airport for ages, bumpity bumpity. And same thing in a car driving through a bumpy construction zone. Had the plane thing happen on takeoff a few weeks ago, a glass of wine fixed it! Not the recommended solution, but all I could do at that point!
