I had phone call this morning telling me I had been booked for a Cardioversion on 02 Feb 23 at Barts hospital to try an correct AF. This will be the first one that I have ever had and to say I am not scared is an understatement. I have had at least 3 ablations, plus two mitral valve replacements,

Emergency Room Visit: Besremi and Afib?
It was a stressful week last two weeks as my husband had open heart surgery on November 21 and I'm taking care of him at home now. Last night around 9pm I noticed shortness of breath, and a racing heart after doing a lot of work around the house. My Apple watch said I was in atrial fibrillation with

health anxiety ruining my life
Any sensation I have in my body I think it’s cancer. I have no family history. It’s just an irrational fear. Even when I had the flu a few weeks ago I thought it was leukemia/lymphoma. My husband is frustrated and doesn’t know how to deal with me. He tells me to just snap out of it. I’m constantly checking

Depression, anxiety higher in lupus patients at risk of heart disease
Because cardiovascular risk factors like obesity have been linked with mental
health
issues in the general population, the high rates of
anxiety
and depression here “could be partially explained by the presence of high cardiovascular risk conditions,” the researchers wrote.

LIMA by pass or open heart surgery by pass which hals the best longevity does anyone know)?
My husband has been told he could have a LAD by pass using mammary artery instead of leg version. They do keyhole surgery through rib cage. Has anyone had this? Is it different to quality of open heart surgery ?

Facing my anxiety (semi-successfully)
I was worried because I have recently developed a lot of
health
related
anxiety
(like fear of passing out/throwing up/choking) when I go to events, but I was able to fight through it yesterday!

loneliness
I live currently with my bf and his mom. And my bf seems to just resent me. I turned to drinking because I did not know how to cope with myself. I have tried therapy (which I cannot afford atm) in the past and it helped somewhat. I have really tried to better myself but my mental state just got worse

"Covid blood-thinner drug treatment dangerous and does not work". This scary headline in the Guardian today turns out to be specifically about Apixaban being used in relation to hospitalized patients recovering from covid. The article begins: “A blood-thinning drug given as a potential life-saver
