Dear Twiglet99

Get it checked out now please, infection can spread at an alarming rate or run its own course, but because of the nature of your heart illness you may not be able to fight it by yourself.

Please please get it looked at, most Drs have specialist nurses that deal with this type of thing, and they will be able to take a sample of the infection to make sure you are receiving the right antibiotics { if needed } or any other treatment.

Take care

Seek advice as it could be an infection.

Hello :-)

This happened to me right at the bottom of my scar

You really need to get it looked at I had to have it dressed etc for weeks eventually it cleared up but it would not have done without the Nurses keep tending to it

It will be ok but you need to get it treated and I hope you let us know how you get on :-) x

oh that’s annoying for you! Yes, agree with the others, go and get it checked. I don’t know about you guys but they rolled out the red carpet at my drs for me after my surgery (maybe cos they missed it and I nearly died?! LOL) I didn’t have a problem with my heart scar but had pus come from one of my leg cuts. They dressed me up and I was fine.

Was anybody else surprised by how many bits of stitches came out of their chest/legs? I Remember there was one evening when I saw a bit of stitch in my chest so I pulled it…a good 3 inches came out…I thought I was gonna unravel!! The stitch from chest were like fishing wire but the stitches that came out my leg were like rope. Very odd. Fascinating but very odd!!

Hi Twiglet99Get it checked out. Do not ignore it please. It probably would require just a course of antibiotics, so try not to worry. Speak to your gp though.

Take care of yourself

Kind regards

speak to GP. I had same and sent go a photo she concluded it was superficial but went on antibiotics and they sent district nurse out to dress it. Cleared up in a few days but best to be safe

I think you should definitely get checked out pus is definitely a sign of infection when I had my surgery when I was born the wound opened up again and they said to just let it heal that way so I have a very unique looking scar. But please get checked out just to be safe! 😉

Two weeks post op from triple bypass. My scar has started leaking pus from the bottom for the last six days. Saw Dr 5 days ago who.put me on Fluclixacillan, 2000mg daily. Had to arrange myself for district nurse to come out and dress it 3 days ago. It's filled the dressing within two days so I had to remove it. Nurse not coming back for another two days

Should I get them back sooner?
