Hi. After six months clear of af it suddenly came back last month. It seems to bother me every day since. I’m on Bisoprolol 10 and flecainide 50.x 2. Also became tachycardic. Spoke to gp who agreed I could increase flecainide to 2 x 100. Made me very breathless so reduced it again. I’m mostly tachycardic. Seeing cardiologist next week as planned but wanted to know if anyone had similar experience. Thanks.
Tachycardia : Hi. After six months... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Tachycardia
AF is a mongrel condition and can do this. The old saying is AF begets AF so the more you have the more you will get.
I'm just wondering whether its the Flecainide causing your tachycardia. When I was taking it (same dose as you) my ECG result was 'Atrial flutter with variable AV block with premature ventricular or aberrantly conducted complexes. Left axis deviation. low voltage QRS. Abnormal ECG'.
Once off Flecainide my ECG was:
Undetermined rhythm. Otherwise normal ECG.
Phew was so pleased to have a fairly normal ECG.
Always ask for a copy of your ECG when you have one.

Thanks. I’m checking Kardia but trying not to do it too often. I did wonder about coming off flecainide as cardiologist took me off it last year then after a time out me in lower does. I’m not actually at home so don’t want to experiment. I guess I’ll wait to see cardiologist but I worry that heart is remodelling.
I take Bisoprolol. Wa s on 3.75 of same twice a day until a few months ago. I now am only taking one 1.25 Bisoprolol a day having had a successful cardioversion done after two years of waiting. Also have stable angina.
I take other tablets with Bisoprolol in the mornings and of course Apixaban twice a day.
I have felt better since cutting down the Bisoprolol.it’s amazing how such a small tablet can have such a big effect. Still….it does the job when it’s needed. Good luck for the future….
