how can I get over my hypochondria?

I have health anxiety since June. It was since I graduated college and I’ve been terrified of the lil pains I’ve had in my body. It’s usually in my forearms, my calves, both sides of my chest, back of my head, and shoulder blades. I haven’t been to the doctor cuz my mom and grandma don’t want me to be making my health anxiety worse and constantly relying on the doctor.

right now I got aches that come and go in both my arms. I’m like this some days, but I always get so anxious.

How can I stop worrying so much about my health?

I would get a check-up and address this issue with your GP and also seek support for anxiety - whether that's meds or talking to somebody.

I was recommended this book, so I'll recommend it, too.

Sounds like you are dealing with health anxiety and maybe some OCD. I suggest you check out the youtube of Paige Pradko, she is a therapist that healed herself of it and now helps others to heal, she also has online courses available if you are interested. Another one to check out is Matthew Codde at restoredminds.com he is also a therapist that had OCD and health anxiety and healed himself and now helps others. Another good resource is the DARE Anxiety book and youtube videos for learning what anxiety really is and how to constructively deal with it.

You are an adult, no longer a child. Your mother and grandmother cannot stop you seeing the doctor if you need to, and it seems you need to.

Cheers, Midori

Hi Kickstartart21, of course, always start in addressing any physical issues with your

doctor. One you are clear then you can address any emotional attachments causing these

pains. The fact that this all started after graduation is quite common. College life although

stressful can still be a part of your carefree days. Once you graduate, it's Welcome to the

Real world that can be quite intimidating to the fresh scholar.

One step at a time. Evaluate your life's path as to where you are going. Talking with others

on this forum who feel the same will help you know that you are not alone.

Hypochondria can be a temporary issue at this time in your life. My best to you as well

as Congrats on graduating. :) xx
