Advice on Results Please
Hello, I've been trying to find my sweet spot since starting HRT and discovering I was undermedicated. I've just had my latest test results back although I keep having issues with the blood samples for Medichecks so some tests have been redone and other are missing. Anyone else have issues with this

Long Term Zoloft/Sertraline, or other SSRI Treatment, might increase Coronary Artery Atherosclerosis and stroke risk
Effects of Long Term Zoloft/Sertraline Treatment and Depression on Coronary Artery Atherosclerosis in Premenopausal Female Primates. This study was done on female monkeys only. Thus, it might be safe to assume that male monkeys would have had similar results. These results could be caused by depression

Effects of Coconut
Coconut is said to increase both
HDL
and LDL.
HDL
is supposed to help cleaning up bad
cholesterol
. Then how come LDL also is increasing along with
HDL
. If coconut is helping to increase
HDL
, why is it not helping bad
cholesterol
, why both
HDL
and LDL are increasing?

Private cholesterol testing - not DIY
Hello all, I used to keep blood tests abroad, but I travel less now. The NHS will give tests every few years, but I’d like to keep an eye on my LDL figures. I have tried at home kits with limited success. I just wondered about options for clinics who do this? I’m sort of OK to pay up to £80 but any

His
hdl
cholesterol
is too low (we are trying diet to increase it) but overall his cholesterol is ok yet he’s on the highest statin dose 80. His blood pressure is good. He’s been told he’ll not see a cardiologist until October so until then we are referring to dr Google and healthunlocked.

One of my sisters and I also have elevated
cholesterol
levels, though my
HDL
/LDL ratio is relatively good. I suspect that the fibrillation was related to very elevated TSH levels but I've not been able to find any research on this.

Do natural supplements work to reduce high cholesterol?
I haven't seen the results but my GP mentioned 300 for my LDL (bad
cholesterol
). Interestingly my good
cholesterol
(
HDL
) was also high which she found quite surprising. She mentioned taking statins. I declined for various reason which she understood.

FibroScan - how many probe flicks for an accurate reading?
I decided to check with my GP, which revealed a slightly raised ALT 48 (just 3 points above the normal range), low vitamin D, and very high
cholesterol
(
HDL
ratio 6.94). The test results signalled a red flag for me which is when stopped consuming alcohol.

TSH result & high cholesterol
I’m taking 75mg levothyroxine daily and I’ve just had my yearly blood test which is: Level 3.01MU/L. 0.35-4.94 my cholesterol is 7.6 which my nurse said is high. Is my thyroid reading ok or is my cholesterol high because it’s not? I’ve read that an underactive thyroid can result in a high cholesterol

Cholesterol
Just had a cholesterol test and I think the GP wants to prescribe stations. Do these interact at all with MTX or COSENTYX? I have changed my diet, but on investigation it seems dietary changes rarely make a difference.
