Flu jab
Just wanted to say be careful with Flu jab ahead of blood tests . I wasn’t aware can actually cause a dip . My counts are always precarious as I have ITP , had test 3days after jab, and now my Olaparib has been stopped for a week🤬🤬. Sorry am talking platelets here in case not clear !

Well, this is deja vu. My first ablation worked lovely until I had the Covid jab in march. That lead to a second ablation in April which was fine until I had the flu jab yesterday. Went into tachycardia in the night and then into "fast Afib" and struggled to breathe so ambulance took me to hospital yet

Non-live shingles vaccine.
I am about to have it, 2 doses at least 8 weeks apart. Has anyone had it and what sort of side effects did you experience please?

Checking for Scottish 3rd primary vaccine appointments
I’ve been checking the Scottish Covid vaccines appointment online system for some days, hoping a 3rd vaccine appointment would show up there before I’m contacted. There wasn’t a new appointment at 6.15pm tonight but I just checked again and I have one, for just over a week’s time, in Dundee city centre

Shingles
A few days ago I thought I had pulled another muscle in my side as I reached to close a high window. This morning I woke up to red rash on one side of my back and abdomen. Looks very like shingles. Rang Gp this morning and having a telephone consultation this afternoon. I’m down to to 21/2 mg of pred

Local legend 🤣
Week 3 run 1 with friend recovering from a cold and me recovering from a flu jab, I’d hate to put anyone off because i think it’s important as many people are vaccinated against flu but that’s not been fun at all. We really enjoyed that, the 90 seconds felt good and afterwards my friend said she enjoyed

Influenza (flu) vaccine?
Some facts about influenza vaccine and influenza (the way I understand it at least): - the vaccine protects against 3-4 strains of influenza, depending on manufacturer, type etc. - the vaccine changes slightly each year, due to highly evolving nature of the influenza virus - because of this, vaccine

What type of Covid 19 vaccine boosters are available in Northern Ireland?
I am vulnerable and disabled aged 65, I had a bad reaction to AZ vaccine, but will probably need a booster, I have heard they will probably be pfizer or moderna as far as England is concerned, any news as far as Northern Ireland is concerned? My jabs were in Feb. and April. so my six month period has

For information: Shingrix vaccine on NHS
I was talking to the rheumatology nurse yesterday about various things including that my husband has shingles again and that I had been advised against the live shingles vaccine because of pred and azathioprine and she said that the Shingrix dead vaccine is available on NHS from the beginning of this

Reducing from 7mg to 6.5mg.
I have been doing really well and feeling quite positive about how far I’ve managed to reduce, with the help of methotrexate. However, I began to experience some aches and pains at 7mg but decided that feeling fatigue and aching may be where my body is starting to go back to normal and would ignore how

Is it wise to have flu jab and covid booster vaccination together?
Have been invited by GP to have flu jab and In the letter it says ‘’may also be offered a covid booster at the same time’’ Personally I’m against having both together. Not sure why!!! But anxiety could be the main reason. My head is telling me it’s not safe. Looking for some advice from the knowledgeable

Flu jab
Yesterday I went to volunteer at our hospice shop and all the staff had been to the next door chemist to have their flu jab. So I went as well. Woke up at 2am this morning aching all over with a headache. Even paracetamol didn't help. I feel awful. I am doing a slow reduction from 6.5 to 6 and after

FM/a test - bogus(?)
This is a new short article on medpage yesterday, based on a very long and informative STAT investigation article from last week (2021/10/20). The links and my comments (sorry, lengthy...) below... "Bogus Fibromyalgia Test? A blood test for fibromyalgia is based on shaky science, but still marketed directly

Flu jab and AF
I’ve not been in AF since last March but within an hour of having the new flu jab today I was in AF and have been all day. Has anybody else experienced this?

Hey all, like the sign says, has anyone received Shingrex while on Acala? I need to get it and my GP and Oncologist says to get it. Just wondering what reactions I should look out for after the crap I went through with my 3rd Phizer. I never had reactions to vaccines before but puttin 2 and 2 together

Care home Covid rules
Yet again my sons small care home has to lock down due to a member of staff testing positive. No one else has returned a positive test, everyone is double vaccinated yet they still have to lock down for 14 days. The general population don’t have to isolate if identified as a contact of a positive case
