Flu jab and AF

I’ve not been in AF since last March but within an hour of having the new flu jab today I was in AF and have been all day. Has anybody else experienced this?

I'm sorry this happened to you. I hope you are feeling better and the AF is gone. I have no experience with that effect but hope you will follow up and let us know how you are.

I had mine on Friday and apart from a very slightly sore arm I have been absolutely fine

I’ve read it can in a few people. You seem to be an unlucky one. The Pfizer jab definitely does affect the heart in a few younger people, causing mild and temporary inflammation. I wonder if that is the cause?

Sorry to hear. This should immediately be reported to your Regulators and Doctors to be documented for their Covid adverse reaction records. I went into Afib twice from wearing a mask!

The replies have confused me . You did state flu jab and not covid . Is this the seasonal flu vaccination?

Hello grahamable!

Just a coincidence! AFibs come and go, which we so many times cannot figure out what was a trigger if anything. Perhaps you were a bit nervous or tense? I have had this uninvited visitor coming to aggregate me for 23 years.

Still trying to figure it out by meds, changing diet and lifestyle, which I feel help somewhat. But we never seem to get rid of it for good.

Good luck and do not get overly excited or worried about your AF it only makes it feel worse.

Anything is possible I suppose .? But After my first vaccination I felt really bad but had no AFIB or ectopics at all. My second vaccination was a breeze and I felt fine. 2 days later I woke with AFIB in the early hours after a good few months AFIB free.!!! I don’t think it was my second vaccination because AFIB is so unpredictable and comes out of the blue for no reason at all. I think it was just time for my AFIB to pay me call. Best wishes Graham and I hope you’re feeling better 👍 Ron.

I had the second Pfiser shot in early Feb and had a reaction (headache and fever overnight) and also afib , however I was still happy I got it. Afib wasn’t likely to kill me, Covid might. I was delighted to be offered the booster (third shot ) last month and had zero reaction! Yay. My advice: take the shot!
