appointment update
Well left for my appointment with a HR of 111. ECG hospital HR 174, BP 167/132.- full blown AF. Deposited in chair and wheeled to the consultant. My husband offered to push as the poor nurse wasn’t strong enough ( I only weigh 67kg ). If the resource was available I would have been kept in hospital

Hello guys I’m a new member and wasn’t sure that this site wasn’t a pop up that I’d accidentally gotten onto ha ha total dinosaur that I am
My story is a long one-I developed a squint and then mono-occularism around 5yrs otherwise fit and healthy though shy, quiet but determined. At the age of 13 I felt like someone had switched me on or woken me up but by 15 I had my first allergic response to food-Hovis wheat germ bread. I became muscular

Pred dosage/PMR
I started on 15mg Pred on 15th Sept after an appointment with rheumatologist. He asked my GP to arrange a repeat blood test and an ANCA serum test along with a chest X-ray. I haven’t heard anything back from the surgery after I spoke to them a week ago and the GP said he would have to check up on it.

Nasty cough with shortness of breath , Local GP suspected chest infection, prescribed antibiotics and chest x ray, this picked up a issue so had chest CT scan. 12th August. Suspected lung cancer to right upper lobe .!! Early staging suggests T3/N2/M0 this now May have been a bit premature as Bronchoscopy

Rituximab and Chest Infections
Not long after my first 2 Rituximab infusions I was diagnosed with a chest infection and given antibiotics. The GP booked me in for a chest X-ray and 3 or 4 weeks later that showed lingering infection so I had another week if antibiotics. At the weekend I felt very short of breath and my pulse was racing

Rather scared. What does this mean?
As confirmed in my bio,I went into persistent af in April after 17 years of problems. At this stage my heart was fine , my last echo was clear. I had a chest X-ray in dec which showed no problems. My heart rate was 120-130 and I was assured this was fine/ normal despite feeling increasingly breathless

bnp level high, breathlessness and fluid in lungs. What does this mean?
hello everyone. I have posted relatively frequently, most recently because my weight loss surgery was cancelled due to high heart rate(120-130) in persistent af and breathlessness. The gp gave me additional bisoprolol which brought hr down to about 90. Breathlessness has continued, possibly due to

Did I get this wrong
So I’ve worked my frequency’s out on the basis of when I feel breathless and achy I’ve overdone it and prob need to increase my shots or I’ve left too long a gap, but usually it’s a max of one week between them so I had a rethink as my pains increased I’ve not felt well for weeks and despite increasing

tapering too rapidly after synovitis?
I have now had PMR for about 3 1/2 years; several months ago my hands became very painful, and I was diagnosed eventually with acute synovitis. I was told that if I did not go onto high doses of Pred. I might lose the use of my hands, so I agreed. This is the regime I am on: 20 mg pred for 2 weeks,

So I'm in hospital.. (first ever overnighter)
So following my last post things haven't got better (obviously). Went on a UK holiday with family for a week and had a few incidents. Crazy high heart rate, chest pains, panic attacks. Visited emergency care centre whilst away and after an ECG they suggested that I need a cardio appointment. Went to

health anxiety spiking bc of fever
I’ve had a fever and a cough for 3 days. Around 101. I’m miserable. I went to urgent care right away when I got the fever and I tested negative for Covid and flu. Chest X-ray came back normal. My husband and sister are mildly ill with cough but no fever. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow morning

Can Low Iron levels be caused by under medication for hypothyroidism
I recently had a blood test for a suspected DVT which turned out to be negative but the hospital rang and left a message on my phone to say that they had found that my iron levels were low and I should see my GP asap which of course I did. The GP thought the levels were due to a internal bleeding and

Hi I’ve had AF for a number of years now but it seems to be controlled by bisoprolol apart from my Apple Watch telling me I’m in AF which I wouldn’t have realised. Anyway blood tests have shown I’m very low in B12 and vit d and anaemic and I’ve been feeling dizzy, tired and my ankles and feet swelling

Post Op Clinic today
I just wanted to update folks on my progress. I've been to Papworth this afternoon for clinic, my surgery was 9 1/2 weeks ago. Whilst it was a bit of a production line process they did an ECG, Chest X-Ray and checked my Stats. Since I've been home , about 2 hours after leaving clinic, I've been asked

Update.
Hi all. Been a bit quiet recently as I have had some issues. I had what I thought was heartburn a couple of weeks ago along with shortness of breath. After tests anECG and chest x-ray it is probable that I had a silent heart attack. Being monitored by the hospital. I have been exhausted recently so had

?asthma
a few years ago after a bout of bronchitis which I often got in the winter I was given asthma pumps, I’ve never been sure if I had asthma. Following wheezing when I lay down or even in the day my doctor listened to my chest and sent me for a chest X-ray, this showed a shadow on my lung and I was sent

Another round of departments
I've joined several boards on here: initially PMR because that's what was diagnosed first, then the Lung board because after I saw the rheumatologist in January this year for the first time he said he'd like to try me on methotrexate but wanted a clear chest x-ray first - and that's when the fun really

Been coughing for 3months
I have been coughing since 20th of May in what began as a mild sore throat. I have since hard 3 courses of antibiotics and a chest X-ray revealed a bit of fluid in the lungs, which the consultants do not feel is much of an issue. the coughing is very productive in the morning and then very dry at night
