I am hoping to start a new medication after being on Rituxumab for a few years.
Blood checks all ok , but had to have a Chest X-Ray as not had one done for a while, so recently had this done and assumed it would be ok. In work on Friday, and i get a text to say I've been booked an appointment at Respiratory Physiology, I couldn't get hold of anyone to find out why so now my mind is in over drive as to why.
I had Covid for the first time in May, and my nose still feels stuffy, blocked and haven't regained my smell fully. I have always suffered with Sinus issues.
Has anyone else ever been referred to Respiratory Physiology with RA? I am trying not to Google but know RA/Medications affect the lungs etc.
Many Thanks

It's Monday morning now, could you ring your GP to discuss x ray result? Tell them you're in overdrive and they should put you in the picture. I think that medical systems and notifications do not take into account how stressful they can be, popping up on your phone, and at a weekend.
Thanks for your reply. I've had a stressful few months with one thing and another, so when the text came through my mind went into overdrive, especially as I didn't know what the appointment was for. I still haven't had the appointment letter but I managed to get hold of Rheumatology and it because the X-Ray showed some airway inflammation whatever that is. X It wasn't visible on the NHS App as it was the Hospital who requested the X-Ray and I can only view my GP record on the App not the Hospital systems. X Thanks again 🙂
Thank you...I haven't been right since I had Covid for the first time in May, I didn't have breathing issues but still have a stuffy nose and my smell still hasn't fully returned either so could all be connected..I will ask at the Respiratory appointment. I hope you are well x
The most likely cause is, just as you think, Covid. Covid causes respiratory problems so it is very likely for you to have some mucus, fluid or a feint scar on your lungs from this. However, you would not want a hospital to ignore anything, so they will check it out.
If it were anything more serious, you would thank them for finding it.
Think positive and let them do what they are there for 🙂
I still don't have the appointment letter but managed to get hold of Rheumatology who told me the X-Ray showed some airway inflammation., so have to have some further checks done.
