Dopamine agonists or levodopa?
I am 53 and was diagnosed PD 8 years . I am currently on 1/2 spoon of Zandopa and 1/4 Sinemet, 4 times a day. The medication only lasts for about 2 hours, so each day has been a hell for me. I am currently deciding on whether I should go with dopamine agonists first, or I should add more zandopa/ Macuna

ET VS PD
I found a few studies showing ET patients have a small degree of striatal dopaminergic degeneration. I've had dominant LEFT hand tremor for 4 years. Other than the tremor I have no PD signs. I was on Sinemet for two years and now I'm on Rytary. I had the DST scan 3 months ago. It shows

Sinemet dose intervals
Is anybody here taking their Sinemet less than four hours between doses? I’m finding that lately taking it every three and a half hours reduces my off time and was just wondering how other PWPs manage their doses and how it works for them. Thanks. Blessings to all.

Sinemet / carbidopa levodopa

Food and sinemet timings
Having read in the “Parkinsons book” recommended by Roy Prosner we have been avoiding food two hours before taking sinemet and then eating an hour after. It is getting g a little difficult to plan meals around this schedule. How important is it, or should we just avoid protein during these times please

Exercising and walking when your muscles are stiff
Is high intensity exercises or long walks advisable if you have sore stiff muscles? I always thought being active as much as possible was suppose to be helpful for people with Parkinson's, but in my case it seems to make the stiffness worse the following day. Maybe it's because I'm doing some of the

Unbalance when starting moving forward again after stopping : One more symptom of PSP?
by middle of November 2020 I was diagnosed with a Parkinsonism suggestive of PSP . My only claim was “freezing of gait” only when rotating (no problem when walking forward). Recently I noticed someting new: I feel myself unbalanced when restarting walking whenever after making a stop (no problem when

I am not convinced that I have PD. Could anyone tell me if they have had any of these experiences?
has anyone on a regular basis gone to bed and taken Rytary and not have to take it again for 12 hrs later. This is even after you have been awake for 2 to 3 hours? with no tremors? Do you take Rytary or Sinemet for the symptoms of being stiff but your tremors re fine? Does anyone experience Dystonia

Sinemet and shakiness
Hello all! Curious if anyone has ever experienced tremoring and more shakiness after you taken Sinemet? I take 25/100 and before it starts to work I’m shaking and tremoring quite a bit before it takes effect. Any feedback would be great! Thanks.

Coronet Duo (Red Light) Success?
Approximately three months ago, I asked if Sinemet confers residual benefits. Some of you said yes and one of you provided a link to a study suggesting that there is a long term benefit. However, I posed the same question to my Parkinson’s nurse who basically said that approximately five hours after

PTT FUS 4 months later
I had today my 3 months phone consultation with Prof. J. (one month later). He saw my videos, with and without levodopa e said that i was "very close to normal". Indeed, sometimes i feel close to normal, not everyday, not every hour, but especially in the morning i feel like that. I am able to run again

Much of What We Have to Fear Is Fear Itself?
During his first inaugural address in 1933, American president Franklin D. Roosevelt famously said, "All we have to fear is fear itself." I wish it were that simple when it comes to Parkinson's Disease, but as I approach the three year anniversary of my diagnosis, I have come to believe, at least at

Is this progression normal
My husband, diagnosed 2015, is really struggling. He feels rough all the time. Main symptoms are shuffling, stoop (causing back ache), balance, slowness and lack of energy so exercise is very limited. On Sinemet 3 hourly, Rasagiline 1mg and Madopar 62.5 daily + Neupro patch 4mg. Nothing new seems to

Ongentys this medication WORKS!
I've been using this med for 6 months, with very positive results. I posted on this before and was surprised on the apparent low interest. Back in October 2020 I complained to my Neuro, my Sinemet was wearing off suddenly. I went from being totally functional to frozen in seconds. Also my dosage regimen
