If i wrote this post 3 days ago, i probably wouldn’t be so positive about it, it was an hard day, with difficult controlling tremor most of the day. But it was a bad day among very good days. Today was a virtually no tremor day. I got used to this roller coaster now, but i had a quite pleasant but also

Typical med progression?
My friend started taking l-dopa within the past year. She works fulltime and her workplace isn't aware of her diagnosis. Currently she's taking 8 Sinemet 100mg daily, plus 3 or 4 Rytary 145mg. She also takes sleeping medication, and botox for curled toes. She's reading articles on DBS. Any advice

Testosterone and PD
I have learned many helpful things on this forum, so in the hope that it will prove helpful to others I thought I would share my positive experience with testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). Obviously, TRT is relevant primarily to male PWPs and their caregivers, but there may be equivalent hormone

Selegiline and Zandopa
My neurologist prescribed me selegiline a month ago and It helped me with tremor and movement. I also take Zandopa and sinemet. Yesterday 1.5 hours after taking zandopa, I started having severe headache, and my blood pressure raised to 225. I also vomited 4 times. It calmed down after an hour and blood

Dizziness
My husband is newly diagnosed with MSA and is on Sinemet x3 daily. So far the medication doesn’t seem to be helping, he’s been on it just over four weeks. Also, the symptom that seems to cause the most problems is dizziness which he has all the time. Is the Sinemet likely to help that or should he see

Help Needed! Selegiline?
I am on Sinemet/ Zandopa 4 times a day, including 3 times during the day and 1 before bedtime. It works well for me so far, during Sinemet on- time, I am pretty much symptom free ( although it only lasts for about 2 hours). I also take it right before bedtime, so I can have few hours of comfortable sleep

Supplement recommendations
My father was diagnosed 4 years ago with PD.... 2 years before me. His symptoms are very different from mine. Both of us are LRRK2 positive. He is taking Sinemet 25/100 4 x a day. His apathy is by far the most bothersome non motor symptom... well at least to the family it is..... He will not exercise

Stutter Step
If this has been addressed before, I missed the post. Does anyone else experience stutter step, (uncontrollable, unpredictable quick steps) which makes it hard to keep balance. My husband is almost 3 years post diagnosis and started stutter step recently a couple of months ago. When it happens,

Surprise, surprise. "When should you start medication therapy for Parkinson's disease?" as per THE PARKINSON'S FOUNDATION.
"The most important factor in initiating medications for an individual patient is whether Parkinson’s symptoms are affecting quality of life, (read; interfering with...) or alternatively whether symptoms are affecting work performance." Read; not automatically at the time of diagnosis. https://www.parkinson.org

Rytary
The neurologist switched me from senimet IR..to Rytary about 10 months ago. I feel I have given it a.good try, but am getting very despondent. It either gives me debilitating dyskinesia or doesn’t kick in by every other dose. I have 145’s and 195’s and was told to work with them to figure out what

Sharing DBS Journey
Hi, Just wanted to share my dad's process in case it will help anyone... He was diagnosed at 54 years old and will be 70 next month. He is rigidity dominant, experiences freezing of gait (mainly in initiating) and has dyskinesias from his meds (among many other PD symptoms!). Up until almost two years

Iboga / Ibogaine Summary (For Dopamine Regeneration!!)
I recently discovered Ibogaine / Iboga in my general psychedelics interest. It is a shrub from the Congo basin of Africa that has been used for thousands of years in healing and ceremony, stemming from the Pygmy and Fang cultures, in traditional Bwiti practices. It is still used by those that practice

Any advice? Good/bad experiences with the Neupro patch for PD?
I was diagnosed with PD in 2013. No meds till 2 months ago C/L ER 25-100 mg 3x a day. for a month and half. some improvement but not great. My new neurologist wants to take me off the Sinemet ER gradually and start me on Neupro patch to reach 8mg. I have no cognitive or balance issues, mainly tremors

The Value Of Carbidopa Levodopa Demonstrated in Two Signatures
One of the first decisions a PwP must make is when (or whether) to begin taking medication. There is no correct answer and we all know how PD varies from person to person. I held off for 2 1/2 years after my diagnosis, but a relatively minor event today caused me to pause and think about how well sinemet

Do I have RLS?
I have been suffering from Parkinson disease for about 5 years. No matter what medication I take my legs and feet are always doing jerky movements . My neurologist says this is a side effect of the Sinemet meds but I am not convinced My condition is worse in the evening and it can be very difficult to

Amantadine for tremor?
I've needed to write a long post (or a few separate posts) for weeks now, but I'm just too busy. I'm going to try to make time to do some thorough updates on my situation soon, but I have an immediate question: I can't tolerate Sinemet (tried it from Jan. 16-Mar. 10, 2021), so my neuro (MDS) wants me

Sinemet v carbo levodopa g
Sinemet is the Origina make/brand for levodopa and I have always had this made by Merrick Sharp Dohme Recently in found to my cost that it longer under special licence and it can be made by anyone now, but I was unaware that they would have such a different effect on me. They don’t work well at
