Feeling really ill after giving blood.
They test your
haemoglobin
before your allowed to give blood. They drop blood into a solution and if it sinks you’re ok to give blood. Mine didn’t sink so she did an additional test and said I was fine to donate.

Looking for some advice please
My CRP inflammation levels have come back at 0% normal and my uric acid levels are also 0% normal alongside a slight improvement in my vitamin d levels and increased levels of
haemoglobin
and haematocrit which they have noted is usual for smokers and people who exercise regularly.

Can't quite understand these results!
Why would the
haemoglobin
be ok but the ferritin so low? All other blood test are fine. As was the one I did 6 months ago. Thank you!

Severe iron deficiency and Hasimotos
I’ve just been diagnosed with severe iron deficiency anaemia which has got so bad that my
haemoglobin
is below range and ferritin at 6, iron at 5 (range 5 to 30) and transferrin saturation index at 7 (range 16 to 45). and the GP has offered me an iron infusion. I feel awful!

Iron in all its forms.
HGB (
Haemoglobin
) is related to the availability of red blood cells/ platelets, and thus affects our immediate health. Thanks to Em. She is a truly wonderful source of knowledge for iron issues. Good luck to all.

Another dry tap
Haemoglobin
level was steady. Dropping the daily 1gm of HU. Continuing with daily aspirin. My local transplant unit has commenced a search to see if there is a suitable unrelated donor for me. The registrar who performed my BMB took some time to show me the samples, which I most appreciated.
