Docetaxel re-challenge not going so well
During this hospital stay his
haemoglobin
went to 90 to 77 in 48 hours and he was discharged. He's been extremely fatigued as all his blood values have been low. His ALP was 570 during this time. He will get a blood transfusion tomorrow with his fourth round of chemo.

Are My Arteries Getting Worse?
If you dig out your blood test you'll find a score for HbA1c, or
Haemoglobin
A1c. It will be a number, such as 29 mmol/mol, or 48 mmol/mol. It's a measure of how much glucose (sugar) has stuck to our red blood cells.

Any advice or help please
And England do not advise you to get checked - Within the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme in England we refer people for further investigations with a result of 120 micrograms of human
haemoglobin
(blood) per gram of faeces (poo) (μgHb/g faeces) or more to discuss having a colonoscopy.

Newbie to this group (hello!), iron overload and possible PA question :/
The same can be said for my Mean Cell
Haemoglobin
level. My last B12 test was a year ago and was 480ng/L (211-911), and 510 before that, then 422 back in 2021(same ranges). Do others agree that it is probably B12 that is the issue? the symptoms do match up - cognitive decline especially.

Blood Results
in August 22 strange things started happening with my results, My
Haemoglobin
and Haematocrit went above the recommended range. My Hematologist said he would keep an eye on it. He said he was not concerned but if the Haematocrit went above 0.48 he would be.

Getting transfusion dependent
EPO kept my blood counts up, but even though the
haemoglobin
levels were fairly normal, I still felt pretty rubbish. I now need a unit of blood per month or so to keep my energy levels tolerable. I live on my own, and have a lot to cope with. I really do need to be able to be active.

Ferritin levels and venosection
I had a venosection on October 28th of 450 ml this was for my raised levels of
haemoglobin
. The
haemoglobin
is raised because I am on Testoterone Replacement. The other issue was my raised ferritin, it has fluctuated around 450 for years.

Low Haemoglobin- at what level might a transfusion be necessary- any thoughts?
Blood Tests show my
haemoglobin
to be 89-- does anyone know if it is likely they might want to give me a blood transfusion? I just want to be prepared if that might be the case.... Any thought gratefully received. Thanks all Taar

low platelets and haemoglobin - treatment off
My latest bloods show
haemoglobin
and platelets too low to treat. Again. So I’m back in the wings, until they rise. So frustrating. has anyone else experienced this.? How did you get them back up? And how long did it take?

Thyroid or Pituitary Problem?
I thought that my low iron levels but fluctuating normal/high ferritin levels alongside normal
haemoglobin
would not fit the profile of anaemia but suggest another cause of iron deficiency? My diet intake of iron is suffcient & I haven't suffered any menstural bleed in 3 months.

olaparib dosage adjustments
when I first started olaparib 4 months back, my
Haemoglobin
and platelets dropped significantly. I was asked to take 2 tabs (150mg each) twice a day. When haem dropped to 6.8, my doc reduced the dose to 1tab *2 and put me on iron supplement.
