CORONA VIRUS / COVID-19/SARS COV-2 And Some Potential Help
Ginger
Extract
- An inhibitor of NF Kappa b, IL-6 and IL-8. This one was also contributed by forum member, KERRINGTON! Okay, that is just a list of 26 very common supplements, all of which have shown potential in terms of their ability to inhibit IL-6.

Loss of taste on steroids
Back in February while in Spain I had my first ever flare up ( copd) Doctor prescribed antibiotics and steroid injection and tablets, said I was close to pneumonia. I was pretty rough with wheezing, cough, breathing etc. But never having had steroid tablets before I wasn’t sure what to expect.

Castrate resistance
Appearance of solitary met 1*.5 cm on head of humerus picked on gallium scan while being on ADT for 3 years and psa value risen to .09 from <.008. Already received RT to prostatic bed and femur head. Would radiation to humerus with ADT be done or should abiaterone be added as well to ADT and RT. Suggestions

Phlegm
Hi everyone. I have phlegm stuck in throat added to that a cough which is a very loose cough. I do cough up phlegm every so often. Taking 6 carbestine a day. Not sure they work. But at least loose. Is there any thing else the doctor could prescribe. Otherwise very good health

After coronavirus, another hidden respiratory disease lurks in the buildings we left behind.
Global outbreaks of coronavirus have forced the closing of schools, gyms, offices and other buildings at a scale never seen before. Now, as countries start reopening after lockdown, those previously abandoned buildings could have become a breeding ground for another infection – Legionnaires’ disease.

Can lung cancer be diagnosed by a CT scan?
Hi everyone, About four weeks ago, my partner started coughing up blood..went to A and E, diagnosed with pneumonia and given antibiotics. This week he coughed up blood again. GP told him it wasn't pneumonia ( no indication in bloods) and he shouldn't have been diagnosed with that. He was sent straight

Severe chest and rib pain - no cough
Hi, My wife was diagnosed with bronchitis last December, since then we've been to the doctor's and they gave her two sprays (blue and pink - can't remember the names). She had bloods and x-ray done, came back clear. She is iron and vitamin D deficient, she takes supplements for both. She gets severe

Cold plasma against the coronavirus.
Many seriously ill Covid-19 patients must contend with more than just the coronavirus. Approximately half of the people who were mechanically ventilated yet still died had acquired additional infections in hospital. Cold plasma therapy could prevent these superinfections and reduce the risk of hospital

Constipation
I am baffled by my constipation. I eat healthy fruit, vegetables, oats and drink plenty of water and make sure I get out for a walk at least once a day but I still get blocked. Not been able to go now for 3 days and taking Dulcolax and Laxido to help. I wish I could manage it by diet alone. I have

I take Eliquis 5 mg. twice/day. Have had 2 ablations an no AF for about 7 months. I also have Fibromyalgia and tender (trigger) points are increasing in numbers as well as intensity. I can't take Nsaids because of Kidney issues. I would like to try Tumeric or Relief Factor (lot of positive testimonials

Respiratory problems
Hi. I have lupus, APS and secondary Sjögrens. Since having pneumonia 3 years ago I’ve had a constant productive cough although recent chest X-ray looks fine. Waiting for lung function tests now. Has anyone else with the same conditions developed respiratory problems ?

Depression because of cold
I moved to retirement flat last month. I own it. Bought very cheap. My problem is the cold in flat. No sun comes in it and feels extremely cold all the time. I have electric heating which cannot afford to put on all day. It is warmer outside. Shouldn't need heating in June. I feel cold because of thyroid

Why seretide is the first course of action for asthma...Why not some steroid free treatment to start with?
Hi everyone! I am new to asthmatic life! My issue started with heart palpitations and acidity, got nexium then later I started feeling SOB, initially Dr. Said it's bronchitis and then gerd induced asthma and now asthma. My question is that do I need to stay on seretide course because I cannot differentiate

Covid-19 Pneumonia Recovery
Hi again, I want to thank everyone for their replies on my last post, they were all helpful. Last week I went back to my GP and she again referred me to A&E - I stayed for the night on oxygen and the next morning they told me they believe I had COVID-19 (I believe it was covid pneumonia?) as they could

Coughing with steroids
I have Eosinophilic Asthma, and cough a phlemy cough a lot of the time. I use two inhalers, Flutiform, and Ciclesonide, two puffs twice a day. Sometimes I find that when I use my inhaler, it makes me have a coughing fit. Am I just coughing up the steroid spray and should I use it again?

Angiotensin antihypertensives and COVID-19: No clear added risk nor protection.
Yesterday in a reply I raised the possibility of whether angiotensin-related anti-hypertensive drugs, ACE inhibitors or ARBs would have any protective effect on COVID-19 infectivity, having heard that the virus uses "ACE2" as a receptor. The current NEJM issue has an article summarizing this complex

Breast Health Screening Survey
Many thanks to those of you who took part in the breast health screening survey that we started Autumn. If you missed the chance to participate, please see the link information below. Your opinion makes a difference. We are developing an alternative non-imaging screening approach for monitoring breast

Dry irritable cough different from bronchiectasis cough
Hi all, I had another chest infection three weeks ago. Steroids and antibiotics. The last week I have a irritable cough, I feel it is pollen related rather than infection. I started steroids to try and calm things down. But husband is now annoying me by saying something is wrong. Has anyone else been

Is this a spike? How to keep calm during extremly loud long tinnitus spikes?
Could this be a spike?? If you read my other posts, I havent slept without booze for 2 days. Last night 3 white claws wasn't enough so while my tinnitus seemed a but quieter, I still had that really loud catastrophic booming loud speaker noise when I sobered up and I was still anxious about the T cause
