I am baffled by my constipation. I eat healthy fruit, vegetables, oats and drink plenty of water and make sure I get out for a walk at least once a day but I still get blocked. Not been able to go now for 3 days and taking Dulcolax and Laxido to help. I wish I could manage it by diet alone. I have been following SlimmingWorld plan. I wonder if a suppository is the answer? I need to
Go and feeling bloated but just won’t come. Took Dulcolax last night so hoping for some relief today.

I usually take miralax and it helps because that’s what my dr told me to do and it’s worked best on me but my constipation had caused me to have hemorrhoids that I’m going to have surgically removed and I will be so happy when it’s over and maybe they will put me on something that helps me not stay constipated. I’m having the same issues sister and I know it’s a pain to not be able to go when u know u have too! If u haven’t tried miralax I would give it a try it may work for you! Best of luck to you and hope you find something that works❤️
1 scoop of Kalm Assure orange flavoured Magnesium Citrate in a large glass of hot water, 1 hour before bed. And a heaped tablespoon of oat bran cooked in the milk of your choice with berries if you like for breakfast...works every time. Only took me 57 years to discover this!
My local health food shops have it. A chemist might be able to order it in for you. During the lockdown I ordered it online. Also oat bran may Have more of a laxative effect than porridge. Good luck!
If this happens to you regularly, I would be looking for underlying causes.
Some things that might help would be probiotic foods or drinks (saurkraut, kimchi, kefir) - probiotic foods have the added boost that they are high in fibre too. Start with very small quantities and build up, too much too soon could exacerbate things.
Magnesium supplements can help too, as they relax the muscles.
Make sure you eat a good variety of vegetables - look at the "rainbow diet" (not a diet plan, just showing you the benefits of eating a variety of colours).
Thank you. I will take a look into your suggestions, meanwhile, I shall also await blood test results.
I find this when I eat healthy. Perhaps Weetabix ? Sometimes I get blocked up if I eat to much, healthy or not ... Sometimes I have one day of just small amounts throughout day. This allows for more movement/room for things to pass through more easily.
Hi Heidi1066, thank you for your comments. I have results of 6 blood tests. All came back normal which is great. Following Slimming World meal plans. I do have Weetabix and alternate with porridge and always have strawberries with them. I have just been taking 1 Dulcolax tablet at night every couple of days to help me keep things moving. I don’t think I do enough exercise some days. I do eat healthy portions so will keep that in mind.
I am constipated since the day i was born.I exercise,I drink 2 lt of water every day, plenty of vegetables,I am using olive oil in salads.Nothing happens.I use mineral oil suppository, and glycerine enema.I don't know what to do next.
