Gemzar

Hello all, it looks like Gemzar may be my next line of treatment. There are not many recent posts here about it so I wondered if anyone here could share experiences they've had on this drug? Any tips or resources are welcome - re efficacy, side effects etc. Thank you!

Hi all, My previous treatment (Taxol/Keytruda) did not work - which was a huge disappointment - and I’m starting Gemzar on Monday. I have extensive Mets in the liver, a few (& growing) in bones.

She is being treat with Gemzar and Carboplatin, there's been no suggestion of radiotherapy. I'm asking if anyone could advise on side effects she seems very tired , which I understand is not uncommon and she is managing by listening to her body, resting when needed and eating well.

is there anyone who were on gemzar/cisplatin? 1st day cisplatin/ 8day gemzar than 2 weeks off. How did it work? How do you feel?

I just began Gemzar and Letrosole. My neutrophils are 0.4. Is anyone familiar with this combination and have advice on getting my immune system stronger so I can get treatment? Thank you.

Does anyone else experience any extreme back pain and/or pain under the breast bone with Gemzar?

Have any of you repeated Avastin and gemzar therapies after a year from last recurrence with success?

My oncologist then recommended Gemzar, which isn’t working as well. I had my last dosage today…

I was put on carbo/Gemzar. I had a bad reaction to the Carbo, so I had 10 treatments of Gemzar. I finally had to ask Onco to stop because I was losing my quality of life. Now that I’m off Gemzar, I’m hoping to feel stronger, with more appetite and better energy.

has anyone who has been on Gemzar noticed their eyesight has worsened?

Sadly, I couldn’t tolerate more Carbo, and the Gemzar/Avastin infusions have not helped. My CA125 is rising. Has anyone has this happen? Any suggestions? Thank you.

It was decided to give him two infusions, docetaxel for prostate cancer, and gemzar to shrink the duct nodule. He receives docetaxel and gemzar back-to back one week followed by two weeks of only gemzar. A week of rest follows those three weeks.

Gemzar really kills my appetite. The Thought of most food nauseates me. Here are a few ideas that have helped: Good n Plenty coated licorice candy settles my stomach better than Zofran. Plain crackers and peanut butter.

Hello, I am starting Gemcitabine tomorrow and am wondering if anyone has advice on this chemo? Is it well tolerated? Hi Ladies, I've had 2 infusions of Gemzar+ Oxaliplatine (4-th line of treatment) and for the first time I've developped a huge adverse effects : hemotoxicity. One more of side effects is fever (38C) the next day after the IV.

Doc rattled off things like Gemzar and said that there were a lot of treatments that used to be only for triple negative that are now approved for my boring non-triple negative type (sorry not trying to be flip about it).

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who is on this compound currently. My cancer has come out of remission and I’d like to hear what these drugs did for you. I am on cisplatin and Gemcitabine (Gemzar) and have developed an infection near an ancient root canal that I believe has finally failed. Has anyone safely taken a basic antibiotic such as amoxicillin while on this chemo combo?

I would appreciate your experience concerning chemo protocol: Gemzar+ Oxaliplatine. Unefortunately and despite the inhibitor PARP (NIraparib) taken from 7 weeks now, my marker goes up rapidly and I will be facing the 4-th round of chemo called "gemox".
