2nd opinion gemzar /cisplatin

is there anyone who were on gemzar/cisplatin? 1st day cisplatin/ 8day gemzar than 2 weeks off. How did it work? How do you feel?

Hi. Yes I had this regime mainly because I had a bad reaction to carboplatin and can no longer have it. Cisplatin is harsher than carbo with similar side effects but doable. I became NED after three cycles although I went on to have all 6 cycles. I wish you well. Kathy xx

That was on ur recurrance? Or that was ur first line? My mom also have reaction to carbo, that why.. where was ur mets ?

I had a severe reaction to carbo on my first recurrence, continue with cisplatin / gem. Then I had cisplatin/gem on my second recurrence. My mets were in my pelvis, same place as my first. I’m now in my 17th year and currently on a trial for Olaparib which I have been on for 10 years. I am currently 10 years, 4 months NED.

Just popping in to say that is amazing amazing how encouraging after you had 2 recurrences you are 10 years, 4 months NED! Fantastic news!
