Gemzar not working

Sadly, I couldn’t tolerate more Carbo, and the Gemzar/Avastin infusions have not helped. My CA125 is rising. Has anyone has this happen? Any suggestions? Thank you.

Hi Leniko. Are you allergic or resistant to carboplatin? If the former they do desensitization at some big centers like Dana Farber where I go. Can you find a trial? What about the new drug Elahere? I hope you can find an option. Xx

thx. My Onco did talk about slow-infusion. I’ll probably do that next. I’m treated at MSKCC. I have heard of Elahere, and will discuss as well. CT Scan is next. 🙏

do u have alergy? How many rounds u have with carbo?

I’ve lost track. I’m on 4th line Chemo now. The Carbo I had recently gave me a hive so they stopped it. I believe there is a slow-drip method of infusion I may try. The Carbo definitely lowered my CA 125. Here’s hoping!

Hi Leniko. If you live in the US the immunotherapy called Elahere has been approved there for patient with recurrent, advanced OC and platinum refractory. Ask y/onco about it. One condition to be fulfilled - you have to have tested FR-alpha receptor (folate receptor; medium to high response required). I've just started my 4-th line of chemo with Gemzar+ Oxaliplatine. After only first infusion I've developped a severe hemotoxicity which required an immediate transfusion. Next week will have a consultations with prof-oncologist in Geneva Univercity Hospital, and will ask him if he sees any other options of treatment for me. Unfortunately Elahere is not approved yet in Europe.
